Aaaand this is how threads go to the bottom of the page where nobody can see it.
Can't wait for Christmas.
And yes , I thought this was about RZ awards too.
I want a puppy for Christmas! Well, been wanting one for a while..
It is what you make of it, no one forces you to buy that stuff. Its all just made up in people's minds that they need to. Even 'expected' in some social circles/families.
Yes, nobody forces you, but what you think forms people's minds? It controls you backwards by giving you the Christmas feeling, a manipulating attack to your subconscious, just like advertisement do. But yea, at the end the person will still decide. But most people will flee the logic and follow the feelings all the Christmas do and buy some Christmas crackers and chocolate and other gifts for their friends to get and give the Christmas feelings. Women decide by feelings, so they're the main target of this Christmas attack. *funny spoken*
The real and only thing that is important is to come and be together with the loyal people you can always count on, no matter it's family or friends.
So it should not have to do anything about buying and giving any gifts, well we still do (more or less) ... peer pressure of humanity and childs who freak out when getting nothing to Christmas ... well and the girls feelings.
Edit: A real creature shouldn't be a gift on a special day like it's any special thing, sounds like it's a toy. The puppy is a winner here, too. It will get a great life with you for sure, but it cannot know it's Christmas, it's just happy to be anywhere on a safe place. Respect, puppy!
Well yeah, no one wants to be left out on Christmas, and I'm not suggesting that you leave someone out. I'm suggesting that it doesn't have to be expensive.
I choose to give gifts to those I want to know I care about them. I try to make sure this isn't the only time of the year they know they are cared about. I also try to give things that matter, that would help or are important.
Try making one or more of your gifts this year. Sure you have to buy some stuff to make it, but to me, those things mean more because if you take the time to make something for someone, instead of just 5 minutes to buy crackers at the store.
And for the record, I can't go home for Christmas, so while that is the only thing that 'matters' from what you said, its not going to happen. So I do send things because I can't go. I don't have to send things, but I do. (Plus I spoil my niece and nephew every chance I get!)
If I get a puppy 'for Christmas' - it wouldn't be on Christmas, it could be any time before or after and be 'for Christmas', any time I get myself something 'for Christmas' its just another excuse to get it.
I hate hearing that you can't see your family at Christmas :(: it makes me wanna fly to Texas with loads of Jaffa Cakes, get a fire going and drink egg nogg (or something better tasting!)
I've never had Jaffa Cakes. But I want to try them, as Simon likes Jaffa Cakes, and he talked about them on the yogscast a lot.
I do have a fireplace.
Eggnog is good.
Don't feel sorry for me, I don't. My mom might be bringing my nephew to come visit in Feb, and I will spoil him so rotten it will be unreal. He is very much a fan of 'Monster Jam' monster trucks, and it just so happens that they are coming here about that time, so we'll go see Gravedigger his favorite. Among other awesome things to do for kids. It will be a blast.
Christmas is a day, like any other. Its just a day we decide should be about family. Well, I just have different days with my family, its ok, I enjoy those even better because it isn't all about presents.
OMFG JAFFACAKESARETHEMOSTDELICIOUSETHINGSEVERMADEOFCAKEYORANGEGOODNESS!!!!!
*ahem* now that's out of my system I should probably say something relevant and clever.
I saw a christmas advert on TV at the beginning of august this year which confused and disturbed me greatly.
Ach so long as you still have your special moments with your family it's what matters most. I just hold Christmas very dear to my heart as a big family occasion as I have fond memories of happy times at Christmas. The family always comes round to my house and its always a good laugh (except last Christmas, was quite somber as sadly the head of the family was no longer with us). I love Christmas, not for the material aspect of it but because for me it's always been such a lovely, warm family moment
