Who's got the album and what do you think of it?
I thinks is ace, too short tho only 6 tracks.

i love it man each track is really really well done
i agree with it being too short though, woulda been nice for a few more tracks
Jay Z was supposed to be retiring!
He made this with Linkin Park cos he needs some extra cash for his retirement!
I like the idea of the album tho.
Its a really good album, takes best of hip hop and best of nu metal and mixes them up> Its really good, Id like to hear more
i haven't got the album but i have a couple of their mixes, really gd imo :D
i heard the numb/encore one.. awesome. but i dont know if im gonna buy the album
Yeah, the Numb _ Encore with JayZ is great!
I think they both are crap
Linken Park - Worst career move in the history of 'rock'...u cant class it as rock anymore. They ruined numb, and went from mid table standards in my book to rock bottom...

I thought Linkin Park was "Rap Metal" ??? Rock is a broad term anyway, just like how "punk" is now.. People use both waaaaaay too much..
Hmm rather perdantic of you both lol, im sure u both know what i mean...i never saw linken park as a rock band either but they were aiming for that sort of audiance, as for 'rap metal' thats never what they used to be like, they used to be a hardcore band (seeing as u dont like rock lol)....like i said bad career move :p
As for using 'rock' and 'punk' too much thats only cos the new crappy 1it wonders call themselves a rock/punk band when their music is totally different, true rock/punk fans will always call it that and know what they mean...
what dyou mean by hardcore?
like less rap?
go back to the hybrid theory EP m8, theyve actually took out a good load of rap in favour of chesters lyrics,
i saw them as a supporting act and at their own concert and ive gotta say as time went on they got much better
i loved the 1st concert but the 2nd was amazing
bad career move? im sure they are making a hell of a lot more money now than they were when they were "hardcore" right?
lots of people say they sold out, i say bloody good marketing
and man dont u mean pedantic? :tp:
hardcore is a style of music...just like their first song they released.
Imo its not all about money, and marketing, thats why i think it was a bad career move, but then again i see record labels pushing metal/rock bands to release music also another bad move.
Its all a matter of opinion.
But you cannot deny(sp) that they have mixed two very different styles of music with j-zee, and this thread started off about asking our opinions, so i stated mine, i feel j-zee ruined them.
Or in other words trying to push for a wider audience equalling more profit has ruined them....one thing i hate about the music industry these days
Actually I thought the older LP had a lot of rap elements, not rap like Tupac or Eminem rap, but rap elements nontheless.
That being said, I did like the first album the best, every song was great IMO. The new stuff is still cool, but I'm not such a big fan anymore (but still a fan).
BTW what is true Punk/Rock to you? I think there's a lot of variations of it myself, from the old stuff to the new. One thing that has to happen in a changing world is, well, change, and most bands have to do that to survive.
linken park are the first band to take the element of hiphop and 'rock' tho, all other bands change very little compared to other bands, the biggest change in music these days has got to be metal to nu-metal i would say.
erm rock and punk, hard to explain but maybe an example will help.
punk=greenday
metal=metallica
rock=not a gr8 fan of rock, but say pearl jam (most hard rock now is either nu-metal or hardcore etc)
I agree with change as in the music industry changing, new bands etc, but very little bands change their style of music dramatically.
Do u know of any other 'rockyish'(duno what to call it now ;o) bands that have mixed with hiphop? from what i can think of linken park are the first, not sure on this tho
Something inside me hates Fred Durst but Limp Bizkit are considered by some as doing this before Linkin Park came along.Originally Posted by A Fire Inside

Automato (for a listen: http://www.coupdegrace.tv/cards/automato/player.html) are a band that are more of a live hip hop group. Not "rocky" at all IMHO but some reviewers try to say they are jus cos they utilize live instruments. Here's link to another track by them:http://www.coupdegrace.tv/artists/au...1104135618.mp3. It's bout the guy's mother having cancer and his memories of the experience.
Other than those all I can think of are collaborations:
- Eminem did a rock remix of "The Way I Am" with Danny Lohner and Marylin Manson.
- Run DMC did many a rock influenced/sampled track.
- KRS One did a track called "Rappers R N Danjr". Dunno who does the guitar on that track.
- P.O.D. did a track with hip hop group called Nappy Roots on the Daredevil soundtrack. Cant remember the name of the it.
- M.O.P. remade some of their hip hop tracks wih some group called Shiner Massive or something under the name Mash Out Posse. http://sandbox.pair.com/abstract/fslcd1.html.
- Rapper Blade had one of his tracks "Ya Dont See the Signs" remixed by Grant Nichols of Feeder.
Worth the money, ;)... I first listend to it when I was going to the mall with my bro and he had his base super super high up, Its ownage XD!
