Do you really study in primary and middle-school though? It's only high school/college and university which requires much in the way of studying.
So for me it would be:
GCSE's: 2 Years
A-Level's: 2 Years
University: 4 Years
and probably a 2nd Uni for 4-5 Years for a phD.
Err i live in a strange county where we have 4 years of High School from different years if you know what i mean like most people leave for Highschool at, ah hell cant be bothered to explain, Its weird but Highschool = 4 years and we only choose our GCSE Subjects year 10 and 11 and take them end of year 11, College = A-Levels from 1-4 years and Uni, Not sure :S

Just on a side note, as long as you did your best you shouldnt stress over your results. My mate got a load of good results A's/B's and his parents were angry at him for some reason ?!?! Lol. Hes staying at mine tonite :D

Thanks Morphe, lol - 12 is a lot, I was one of the few pupils not to drop any subjects as well as doing triple science =0
Anyway, dont worry too much bout your results... you passed almost all of them and should still have the option to resit them if you wanted. It may mean waiting another year or so, but if you still wanna do that college course then maybe you might consider it.

Thanks. It was kinda weird.. we'd been celebrating pretty much all day, then my mate left and about 1 hour later he came back and told us what had happened... really pissed at his mum atm. Dunno how she can complain at his results -- but shes one of those ppl who you cant please no matter how well you do.

U (<-- This is supposed to stand for "Unclassified". Basically it's when you get a really low mark in your course. I think it's anything lower than 10%. It's not just a fail. It's like not even doing the course.)
I took Higher Tier so if you get any marks below a B then its automaticaly classed as a "U" and it means "Ungraded" =(

i've got about 7 passes in gcses and 1 a-level and 2 as-level which i haven't finished yet, not sure if i want to tbh because they not what i want to do in life but i guess 3 a-levels to my name is better than nothing.
i got pretty ownage GCSE results
got shite for my A levels, even got an X for my german
however im enjoying much more succes than most people i know who have completed uni degrees
my master instructor had no gcses a levels or anything, yet he is running the biggest most succesful martial arts school in the north uk
bad grades just mean it probably wasnt ur time
keep pushing for whatever it is u want though

Yeh same thing happened to one of my m8's last year, he got mostly A*'s and A's and when he rang his mum from my house her first comment was something like 'but you didnt get an A* in English', i couldnt really believe that. God help the guy this year cause he couldnt collect his A/S results so his mum had to get them, still dont know what he got but they prob wernt good enough.
As for me in GCSE i got 1 A*, 4B's, 3 C's a D and an E.
In A/S this year i got: IT: A, Bus Study: B, Gen Study: D and the almighty grade of a U in Maths, the 4 A's in 4 AVCE IT units helped make up for that tho.
