And, I think something may happen because they found Shannon had shit loads of prescribed drugs such as Anti-depressents, temazepam, and a whole load more, dating back to 20months before she was found (20 months is alll they could test for, as it was tested with strands of hair - Longer the hair = the more it'll tell you about past. 1cm = 1 month. Her hair was 20cm long).

Kidnapping happens all the time, if we didn't publicise it to the point of celebrity things like this wouldn't happen. I know having a kid kidnapped is a parents worst nightmare and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but there is way too much publicity on random single cases. There is so many that go missing I just think it's so unfair to focus on one or two, especially when they start making charities for the parents to profit from it.
Personally I think these two were being quite clever, trying to exploit the system and use the idiots who buy into all the media hype. Though to be fair drugging your kid is a bit nasty! Least they could of let her in on the scam (so when the ransom is paid and she would be returns she could describe some random person :P) but I guess most parents are no better with all the anti depressants and crap they give kids nowadays.

Yeah, I think they got the idea from Shameless Season 4 (or one of them) from what I heard on ITV News a few months back when Yorkshire Police started investigating them.

Doesn't matter, missing children should appear everywhere...because it's a sensitive matter, and the best way to make people aware. The tiny fraction of cases where people abuse that procedure are just that...tiny, and shouldn't affect the whole system.
The parents shouldn't be shown or covered by the media at all, but the missing children should...

What the hell... as if you wouldn't notice something dodgy was going on, in college we were having a discussion about this and despite the fact I wasn't listening much I did here a teacher mention how social services was called on the family 3 times by a neighbour before and how nothing was done. One dodgy family they got going on there, just can't believe how they managed to trick everyone and even the little girl o_O. I got to admit though I did lol when I heard about this.
The Bennets were the only family that I know got away with this type of thing.
