Worlds.com Sues NCsoft For Patent Infringement

Effects: Removal of Chat bars + Skill boxes from MMORPG games, so unless someone finds another way games will turn to single player! hello bankruptcy for mmmorpg corps.

Blizzard is gonna be pisssed... everything can get sued, even xbox, wii.
we all know microsoft will get people wacked for this..

Tbh I'd be surprised if it stands up in court. That's like filling for a copywrite on a telephone, when it's been around for ages. If I were on the jury I'd laugh these guys out of the court room.

From what I know you can't copywrite obvious things, and the ability to type ingame is hardly ground breaking years after every game in the industry uses it...

That sounded to me that in 1995 the person handing out patents just went *Uh no, you can't patent talking* and since then they have kept trying/rewording it till some dumbass doesn't read it/understand it fully and grants them it. Thus they thought, wahoo we just won the jackpot, lets go sue every mmo....
