:P if you were stood on the particle then it would arrive at the destination after it left, if you were stood on something else then it would arrive before it left.
O.o no thats if you observed the same event from two seperate points, dont make me get the diagrams!
uhmm, i thought the thing would explode under the force of two part's colliding at the speed of light ;], guess i was wrong lol
If it DOES create a black hole when they do it next month, it will only last for 1 trillionth of a second before imploding in on itself. It is not able to absorb in that amount of time, enough energy to become self-sufficient.
life would suck if you were travelling at speed of light. You'd experience your entire life all the time because its not linear anymore. Imagine if its twice the speed of light... like Nuklear said... mindfuck.
On that note, imagine 18 times speed of light: http://sprott.physics.wisc.edu/Pickover/pc/shuttle.html

The end is near. All praise your Combine overlords.
Wish something awesome and destructive had happened. All I saw was a tiny white flare on a screen

[QUOTE=Laz-low;4056284]Einstein did, apparently.
Interesting fact, the LHC tunnel is the coldest place on Earth at 1
The LHC is not the coldest place on earth, but they have successfully brought atoms down to ALMOST absolute zero. Almost because you CANNOT get anything down to absolute zero, the moment you do, just looking at it will cause it to heat up again due to the light being traveled between your eyes and the atoms.
If i remember correctly, when they did that, the object actually gained an extra dimension somehow; it looked ethereal when they looked at it and it was impossible for them to actually tell the exact spot of the object due to that. Really cool stuff. No pun intended :P
i was under the impression absoloute zero had never been reached, if i could see an article for that rish that'd be great.
Still looking, though keep in mind they can ALMOST reach absolute zero, it is impossible to reach it though. Like i said, just looking at it will heat it up so it's not possible to reach it.
i know they can reach around 0.3 or some stupid decimal point, however your comment implied they'd reached it and come back O.o
