Edit: My 2004 world atlas says:
Protestant 61%, Roman Catholic 25%, Jweish 2%, other 12%

So that's a total of 14% that are not christian wich is 39.2 million people in the US.

Christians are those who believe in Jesus Christ... traditionally the Jewish community has not accepted Christ, therefore they CANNOT be classified as Christians. Catholicism is the origin of Christianity - founded by St. Peter, the disciple. But over the years it seemed to become corrupt... it wasn't until the 16th century that a German monk, Martin Luther, challenged the Catholic faith and founded his own. One that took upon the original form of Catholicism and took to heart all of the teachings of God - old testament and new. (Luther also translated the Bible to German from Latin so that everyone - not just the priests - could read the word of God.)

Jews arn't Christians...where'd you get that idea from?

DirtyDeals, you obviously did not get my point, which was simply that no 'holy book' can be taken literally, and certainly not taken as fact.. Any scripture of any considerable size will have hundreds of ambiguous passages which, after being translated, retranslated, then retranslated again can eventually be twisted to say whatever the heck someone wants it to..

The other point is that it is not the religion itself that is 'wrong' or 'bad', and most members of those religions (christianity of any flavour, or any islamic religion) are NOT dangerous and in fact good people - the REAL dangers are the morons who use religion as an excuse to commit evil, as in terrorist attacks, witch hunts, and the like.
