Zomg! Where's my Yanire?!?!
Wtf... they actually started a new Mir 3 server... that's just crazy... are people actually pay for that, except for some old players that is.
jesus christ, do they realise the implications of doing something like this on my social, work and sex lives?
i dont think they do, i dont think they know at all
Wierd, I read on the legend of mir site about a week ago that they were closing down all their servers...
Korean devs are learning that there is no point on "selling" the license to foreign companies , its cheaper and give them more income if they do their own hosting and retrieve the money :P
look to rf online - CM closed , they opened a server ( actually 4 servers now ) ( for them its actually using the lowest servers they had in the storage since they had over 40 servers only for korean )
then lately 75% of the leeching of official servers are comming from Brazil or PH so its also understandble they dont want their property being stolen
I'm still waiting for the day that koreans launch a game and when testing they use korean and english at the same time :P
http://mir2.gamepotusa.com/ - New mir2 official server aswell
Surprised you found the Mir3 one before the Mir2 one. =P
Both the Mir2/3 servers will be free2play with an item shop...
Yeah, GameNetworkOnline was discontinued by Digital Bro's and they are putting their efforts into making a new start with GameTribe instead.
GN didn't actually have a license to run half their games when the servers actually went down lol...
Crash
They n GamePot have released Mir 3 and Mir 2, but their not upto date files, I'm currently in the Lom 2 closed beta, their's no option to select a assassin, they do however have them in their wil's and also all the new features such as Item Lending, tigers ect so i don't know :P

I haven't played mir before, is it worth it?
The servers were barely doing good in the last months of the games before they were shut down. I mean whenever I was on euro mir, it topped 300 at most (granted it wasn't so often). I'm guessing all chars will be wiped and it's a fresh start? If so I cba to level another character up again, it took the piss as it was the first time :-/
Hmm interesting....
I've read my fair share about this but I dunno as cool as it sounds I'm very unsure to whether I wanna try it. I mean the last time I played Euro Mir 2 was back in 2003 and I bust my balls to get as far as I did, had to commit myself even to a point where I wasn't happy lol. So if I've got to go through all that again I won't be giving it ago.
Just a shame private servers in general just aren't the same as they we're. It's all about OTT stats and getting from start to finish in 6 seconds. Ah well you either role with the times or take your leave.
Heard the server's located in Korea... therefore, with a game like Mir and it's infamous 'sticky feet' I doubt it'd be a lot of fun with high pings... =|
It's the leveling that would keep me from playing this, i've leveled so much, especially in Mir 2 and 3, that i just don't feel like doing it yet again, i've the seen the whole game (which isn't that hard to begin with), killed every mob, got every item, tryed every class, spell etc etc, there is nothing exciting or new. All that i can look "forward" to would be to play countless of hours to get to a point where i've been at many times before already.
If i would play again, i would rather play a server that i've played for about a year, it's a x3 server so it's not over the top.
Like i said on msn, i had no actual clue that the 4th class was released.
Have to ask, with so many modern MMOs and such today... what's the appeal to playing Mir again?
I don't know, i do know that i've played Mir more then any other MMORPG ever, in all these years i've must have played thousands of hours, the game is really good.
Modern does not mean good... =P
Personally didn't like Mir that much but I'd say it's better than a lot of various MMO's I've played recently.
Modern MMO's seem to focus more on "look at me I'm shiny" rather than focusing on actual gameplay.
If you get a game with decent gameplay then they are always copied and when you move onto try those new games then it feels like you are playing the same game with different graphics.
I think it is due to Mir having good gameplay and actually being unique...
I still prefer soma though *runs*
Crash
Blasphemy!I still prefer soma though *runs*
Soma was fun, though I wasn't too keen how your levels up +hp/+mp is determined by how much of a stat you raised that level...
Example, I recal an extreme case where someone did 22 con at level 1 [dying to lose xp] punching brics, so he could get more hp on level up.... o.O
Not possible.
Soma is a good game, but yeah I agree the biggest annoyance is the whole HP thing. If you don't start by getting to 18/22 con then by the time you are high lvl you basically suck. Hence a lot of servers just start everyone with that much con and stop you from gaining any more. Don't know why RZ hasn't had a soma server since the first one.
But anyway, mir is epic because it's that homely charm. I think everyone goes back to their original game and loves it, it's the game you compare every subsequent game against. I think I've spent about 2 years of my life playing mir alone, hell I've been on it 15hours today...![]()
I always thought the fourth class '?' was just a random button, because after a while of playing I thought it was a bit too late tbh.
Same here, I literally used to spend atleast 9 hours on a normal school day playing mir >_< for around 4/5 years. The graphics might've lacked quality but the game itself was awesome with a great community. Pvp was fun too :P. First MMORPG I ever played tbh and the whole reason I found RZ
Well apparently they finally got around to put the Assassin class ingame, i remember hearing about it in 2004...
