lol, I forgot about that portal thing... I never use it, EVER. Since its origination I've never been back to it. forum.ragezone.com is rz to me.
Like GK said I figured people would read the post but you could tell who read and who hadn't. It's pretty clear to see who really cares and who just went voted off the portal page for the most part.
I value Flameingskull's opinion since he actually uses the Ts server and for other reasons. I would count his vote lol (adding it to like the 2-3 others that count).
Another good reason to move is the server is very easy to munipulate without Admin rights. If you want to see any example you can join up and see the message someone left us (I know who).
But, uhh, I didn't know polls linked to the portal since I never go there and I assumed people would read the post... that's stupid on my part.
I'll give the topic another day to cool down then I'll make my move. Either way, the server is moving to a different ip.
Vent = Better codecs.
TS = Shitty codecs.
My site has a Vent server and we noticed the huge difference between TS and Vent.

Don't really mind either way. barely use it anyway. As long as the lulz stay its good. even though i don't got any time anymore to actually use it.
My experiences with both are quite limited... I have experience with Finnish ventrilo servers which were outstanding, and on the other hand I have visited this RZ TS server, which had quite poor sound quality. Software or distance, I have no idea of, but I just have the gut feeling ventrilo is better. At least, I'd prefer using ventrilo over TS.
I'd say ventrilo. I've simply had better experiences with it then TS.

I sold 500g for 17 sumtin (suppa cheap!!) and I had about 4 dollars already. I spent some on sexy pinkness.
Why not use an older (Unlimited slots) version of ventrilo and host it from home like i do?

do thoes files come under the ''warez'' rule. also some of us like an upload speed so hosting at home isnt practical, and the server wouldnt be up 24\7 unless w005h's computer is on.
Warez - lol... No it's not any kind of illegal shit, it's just an earlier version from before the time when they started with slot restrictions.
Hosting it - Keeping a cheap as computer online 24/7 is cheaper than renting a host, you can host ventrilo on a 133 mhz computer with plenty of resources to spare...
Yes I enjoi my internet speed lol, we'll be in the same spot as when Frag hosted his. Plus the older a version of software you get is, the more likely to be hacked it is.
It's easier just to pay for a dedicated server and not worry too much about it.
I'm still waiting on the money to come in from my sales, the bastard won't acknowledge that I sent the gold to em, so maybe tomorrow I'll get it. His time frame to acknowledge it is almost up.

Also, the server location will be moved. I believe it's hosted in Dallas, Texas right now (far from everyone) but I'll be putting it in Europe somewhere. Most everyone offers London so it'll probably be there. I don't ever lag in anything I do so I don't care where it is ^_^

Ven, it sounds better then TS. Think about it, "Im going on TeamSpeak tonight" now that sounds so gay. "Im going on Ventrilo tonight" people will be like "Shit hes cool".

Meh, I use vent and I like vents functionality better than TeamSpeak, so I rather come on if its vent instead. Just my two cents.
Like I said to you on msn Wh005h, most of the actuall users prefer TS, I was even speaking to triumph at the time and he said that you "can" get some good codecs for vent but tbh we all think that TS is better, less of a ram whore and runs well with games.
I'm just scared no one will use it. Right now there's one other guy in there other than me lol and I can't even talk to him since I'm engulfed in homework.
I'm hoping more for that if I do switch to Vent more people will be using since they don't like the server we have now and they don't want to use it, being why they don't use it now. Kinda of a gamble but I just want daily usage.
I idle in it 24/7 If a few people did that I'm sure we'd have more people joining it. It's not like it's my b/w or that there's even a limit to it so I (you maybe) have no reason not to idle in it and try to keep people in it.

Yeah man I've noticed, I'm on whenever I can get people to join it but since we started getting spammed and introduced the reistering system noone has bothered to join.
Tbh I don't think changing client is going to do much since the same thing will happen, what we need is more users that go on for the sake of it rather than because someone has said "let's go on TS".
Well any previous attemps we're scraped because of lack of management, not everyone will be able to get on always of course, i need to use vent for gaming sometimes so i'll drop by now and then.
