My father in law just died

I'll tell you the story since you are my family. He used to be an alcoholic. When he was 15 or 16 (can't recall which) his father suffered a heart attack and died in his arms. Since that day he always had his personal demons. He was sent to rehab numerous times for alcoholism and was on the mend.he got with a lady and had two children (ages 4 and 2) and he was a great father to them. these children will now not grow up with their father.

All indications we have so far now appear to be a heart attack. he had a shadow on his heart and some other medical problems. We went to the house and spoke to the gentleman who was with him when he died. They woke him up at 8:40am and he mumbled something and the man went out the room for 5 minutes to check on something, came back and he had died. Having to witness the heart ache of those you care about is sad.

I could write a lot more but I'll keep it for another time. I just wanted to have a bit of talk here to get stuff off my chest. Generally I am open to some degree but in truth i tend to never express myself fully.

I do appreciate all the kind words and I'll be sure to get Fluxy (My GF on here) to read and reply. All the support he has received has been amazing. Everyone liked him. There are certain people you can just be in a room with and just chat and relax and enjoy. He was one of those people. He spent 2 days a few weeks ago putting new laminate flooring down for us. Tuesday he was ment to come over to finish it and we wondered where he was, but of course now we know where he was.. dead on the floor :(

I have been reading these and i appreciate all of your messages, thank you, putting his past troubles behind he was a very nice man and a fantastic father. He was 16 when his father 44, died in his arms of a heart attack.R.I.P Dad xXxXxXx

I just read this today, and I'm very sorry for you loss.

I can only somewhat relate on my previous experiences what that must be like. It isn't enough to fully know or understand how you feel. I do think it is good to talk about it, if you feel the need to.

I really wish the best for both of you. I am glad you were blessed with this great guy in your life, and may he rest in peace.

That's literally bad to hear though it really gives you tears in your eyes to see so many people being sad it automatically makes you sad too i can only say condolences to you and you're family.

Well the funeral is in 15 hours so we can finally put him to rest but its frustrating just waiting to find the cause of death. We believe he was hiding a few medical problems from us. I had to take a huge fucking shopping bag of meds back to the chemist to be destroyed. We suspect it may have been a heart attack although the autopsy aint shown jack. Argh. A drug overdose is possible too.

I can't imagine the heartache you all are going through right now, but what I can imagine is that things are pretty rough. Just keep your heads up and always keep him in your loving memories. His physical presence may be gone, but his spiritual presence will always live on through all of the memories he has created with you. It is not my position to say what he would've wanted, nor is it anyone's but his, but we can only assume that he would've wanted you to keep on living strong with your heads held high; not mourning his absence, but celebrating and rejoicing in the good that he has left behind for you. I'm not particularly good with consolement, but I hope my poorly written words have helped even just a little bit to restore some joy and happiness in you Dan.

So sorry to hear this, he must have been a great man if he was one of the few people you were yourself around, R.I.P to him, stay strong, I hope you and all of your family are okay, my auntie recently died, I'm not religious, but I pray for her, knowing she's in a better place, and so is your father in law.

Still no known cause yet, waiting for toxicology reports to come back could be another 4-6 weeks yet :( I want to know what took my father away from me!

If it was overdose, it would have been accidental overdose on the medication he's been prescribed from the doctors, definitely not intentional.
