Got the job.
No fucking way!
I'm still in a state of shock. I actually missed his reply e-mail that offered me the spot by like 15-20 mins, I had stayed up until around 2.30am though :P
After making the video it had to be tested @Lee actually found most of the bugs in the short 30 minute beta testing period. I emailed it off with a professional body and invited him to try the interactive video, a brief explanation of how it worked and off I went. I posted it everywhere so other people would see it too and then I woke up to the e-mail :D
Now we just need to work out the how's and when of the equation.
Great idea and nicely executed!
Congrats
that was very well done. That was the first time I have actually seen a video resume. I guess this helps a lot in this type of field. Congratz on getting the job too!
Dude that is the most creative thing I've ever seen. Well done on making that and congratulations on your new job.
This is better than porn.
Lol Lee, you are the man.
This is fucking brilliant. I'd do anything to train with you man.
Congrats on the job! You deserved it, the amount of passion you put in martial arts is just amazing.
Unfortunately the deal fell through at the last hurdle, a long story short is that one of the business partners wont sponsor a work visa. I guess it's less risk etc to bring in a local coach.
Good things have come from it so far though, I now have contacts in New York, and Bas Rutten who is a famous martial artist has talked to me about my video resume, he even offered me a bunch of tips.
I'm gonna make a new interactive video, but this time it will be generic instead of directed at that one gym in NYC.
Aw dood well power through it for sure, if you had such great success from targeting your resume at a single employee imagine the possibilities of a general one targeting everyone!
Yeah man, powering through is good advice! At first I was majorly bummed out, but I didn't lose anything, only gained new contacts and experience. I've monetized the resume itself so eventually I may even get a few $ for my time too! :P
I think a general resume will really have more bang for buck for sure. You can't beat making something for the person who's hiring, and no doubt I'll still take that approach if I see the opportunity. But for now, my idea is to have a more exciting, easier to browse, interactive highlight video, it's gonna be the landing video for people who haven't subscribed to my youtube yet, also I can post it on blogs, and LinkedIn etc
I do have to say that I was sad to hear it went through. But such is life, it is understandable why they didn't go through with it.
When I watched this, I watched it on my phone, and all I had was you looking around at different things. Was bloody funny!
Only gone and nailed a management post with a bigger mma school (actually schools)!!!!!!!!!!
Don't waste any time me folks.
lol! A few people told me the same when I was in England, I should have put a frame at the start saying it's going to use annotation, I love how I'm just pointing at random shit and looking around xD
