Russia and China both have no intention of stopping North Korea's nuclear program. This is 1938 all over again. We keep drawing a line and telling them not to cross it. When they do cross it, we draw another line (which they later again cross). There will not be anything done until something major (bigger than 9/11) actually happens.

Part of the reason Russia and China are doing nothing is because the United States is backed up in a cage. Our oil depency, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the increasingly high national debt, the threat of radicalism, and now this new threat have stretched our resources very thin. Russia and China are using this to their advantage, why wouldn't they? I doubt anyone here can honestly say that they are close allies. What Russia and the communists dont realize is that once they are done with the United States - they're next.

I'll also point out another disturbing fact. North Korea just made several treaties with Iran and a multi-billion dollar trade deal with Venezuela. Both countries, as I stated in my earlier post, may as well be the axis forces. Iran is where the problem is. They are leading the nuclear front and they are leading extremism.

China will do something about it... speaking with people i work with in china shipping, the indication is that there may be some kind of war between china and north korea, because the testing was done only some 75km from the chinese border, and they apparently see this as an act of agression, russia wont do squat because it doesnt affect them, N. Korea dont pose any real threat at the moment, and i doubt that the situation will esculate into a full blown war, even if it did, there would be no real risk of nuclear warfare especially towards the UK and such as the distance is too far, watch out S Korea i say :S

and Iran is part of the axis of evil isnt it? along with Korea... America knows a lot more than people give them credit for, however i do like your post quite enlightening.

what Kaoii said is true ... well atleast about the Russia, it won't do a damn thing if there is no real threat to it, if there was any threat by now, N korea would be in a war long ago.And Russia wouldn't care less about US(even though they have all those talks about alliences vs terrorists and crap like that, cold war never ended,it's just a less noticable) AND JAPAN(they have a sort of a teenagers fight for a very long time now, cuz of few stinkin' islands that none of the countries really need, but hey, that's politics...). So w00t. we have one major nuke country out of this war/conflict.

As mentioned before UN won't do shit but say "blablabla,don't nuke us let's be friends(not), bla bla bla".


Now China has(or will have) something to say/do about all this, since they are waaay to close to NK to just sit and watch.

now if that is true and it will lead to further "treaties" and alliences. It might be a big problem, and actually make other countries look into this matter, but untill then it's only US ,Japan, S korea, China that have to deal with this.

One thing about those nuke tests, both US and USSR did a lot of testing, but no real war happened, let's just hope this matter with NK ends just like that,testing but no actual use on other countries.
