you dont need to cut your eating that much,
just as long as it is under 3000 (for a man, 2000 for a girl) then you will be fine....

On a serious note I had to once loose a bit of weight to have an operation. I lost about 3 stone in 9 months. Now, my life style is a little bit lazy, I'm not going to lie about that.
I simply stopped eating junk food. I was on a relaxed but serious diet. Breakfast consisted of Wheat, porage (w/o sugar) and/or fruits. Lunch was a sandwitch. Nothing to fancy, Nice fresh bread, butter and normally ham or chicken with salad which included mayo or mustard depending on which meat. I always had meat and fresh vegetables for dinner. Nothing fried, slow cooked meats or oven. Slow cooked is better though. I didn't need to do much exercise. I simply went for more walks with my dogs for a period of 20 minutes to an hour. I also got a gym membership and went for about 5 hours everyweek.
If you want to loose weight do not eat and sit behind your computer all day. You need to loose it or your body will store your digested food as fat.
LIFT WEIGHTS! You'll look great and your body will always be in a state of burning thus fat just burns right off you. Be sure to eat clean carbs with allot of protein and good fats. Cut out the carbs the after 6pm and stick to good meat and watch the weight fly off and the muscle grow. I generally have over 3000 calories per day. I been having I would say at least 4000 for the past few weeks. BEEFCAKE.
