Anyone who thinks high positions (HSMod/Admin) is easy is very mistaken, the thing is that all eyes are on you, almost every choice you make gets questioned, and let's face it, everyone makes rash actions from time to time, and the more power you got, the bigger you can fuck up.
What NoPeace said about Exy is true, he doesn't take it to serious, but the result is that he does less then someone who would be very serious about it, so basicly you either got a person that goes in all the way, and ends up screwing up, or you get someone who takes some distance from it all and will do fine, but you basicly can't do both, because when you spend so many hours doing stuff (and the more you do, the bigger the chance people are gonna bitch at you), and shit happens, then it will annoy you.
The hardest thing is being the bad guy though, right now either MentaL or Exy needs to be the bad guy and remove a few Smods and get things back to how it should. Because the thing is that what Kaoii and NoPeace already adressed is the lack of excitement, in RZ's core are a lot of mods, and the core basicly creates the atmosphere here on RZ, but because the staff is doing pretty crap due to a lack of positive changes, the people in it aren't as excited to be here, to clean up the boards, tbh things are poorly moderated, and that's what causes to degrade the community even more.
My plan is to talk about this all when i'm in England and a bunch of us can have a chat about it and hopefully get MentaL and Exy to put things back in motion again.

I do really need things need to change, when i resigned half the longtime mods weren't doing much/anything, some because they are lazy asses who refuse to resign (2 smods), while other (s)mods simply don't do much because of how things are done, i mean you got inactive supers dictating mods on rules that they just made up, you got mods who want to expand what they do but are kept down, especially a few smod, and all of it combined simply causes the staff to have a negative view of things (and rightfully so) within the staff, and simply don't feel like doing much.

It's that kind of inactivity that will keep killing staff members, it's not a good place to be in right now, you don't get the feeling that people are there for each other helping out on this forum, especially with the Smods.
There are 2 key changes that have to be made, everything else could be discussed or even ditched, but what has to be done is the removal of inactive supers, to not only remove their feeling of superiority they have on mods while they are being jackasses (this doesn't go for you btw negata, but for the other 2 inactive ones...) and their absolute unacceptable behaviour, but also to form a close organised smod team that will actually do something, and perhaps even allow some fresh meat in. The other is the Senior Mod rank, so that mods can still make some progress among the ranks, without having to fullfil the high standards of a Smod, that are very hard to reach unless you been around for ages.
I'm not saying that the focus of mods should be to get higher up, but what's the use of investing a lot of time into something and building up trust, without people showing you some appreciation for it, it's natural for people to want to do more. Ofcourse it's also natural for not wanting to let go, which is the case with 2 Smods, but it should still be done, because they are just holding things back.

I asked MentaL a few days before i resigned to add the Senior mod group, this wouldn't be much work, and it would allow people to work with something, it would give the mods something to work for, give the forum better moderating, and it would allow the smods to see who would be good smods, there would still be 3 smods that shouldn't be, but they can always be ignored...
Seriously though, things have to happen fast, the best i can do is talk about it when i'm England, as that will speed things up, but that's still a month away...
look when the 3.7 forum is added then the staff gets restructured.
