Weird DTB, I have a crappier Graphics card and I seem to have no trouble, my GHZ is crappier than you too. Your comp hates you :(
Well Halo is pretty heavy, and so is Morrowind.
I know the minimum or Morrowind isn't that high, but the setting are really low then, like the distance you can view is very low, low resolution, and those really good effects in the water won't be there.
Halo is kinda the same story, my oldest brother has a computer like similiar or a bit slower then you have, and he can't run Halo on the really high settings either.
if your using XP HOME.. thats the prob =P use pRO
Read Dan ;)
I Got XP Pro :tp:
face it hun ...
men and technology :tp:

hope this helps
Alright that doesn't make sense...Originally Posted by DonTonberry

Instead we should compare it with women and whining, because we all know they whine a lot. :tp:
The whole idea was to say that men are idiots when it comes to technology, at least that's how I interpreted it :good:
Well Don what can i say -
Yeah i agree that there should be no freezes.
But still Celeron SUCK.
(didn't mean to b rude there but still)
Look at the images i attached :
1 PC with 1 GHz pentium actually works faster though has less ram available
it also have a 16 mb graphics chip built in (ONLY 16 !!!) it'a a laptop and still kicks ass in games - can't run halo cause the graphics card is a bit old but runs morrowind without lags on medium graphics setting with 800x600 res.
And can't play any games on my 2 PC though it has 64Mb graphics
And just an advise :
If u want to play get yourself and AMD processor - they KICK ASS
Know from my own experience (have 3rd PC didn't include the diag thought it's not anywhere near)
celerons are a downfall tbh
amd is the way to go if you like to build things for cheap! I built my pc and love the little guy to death!
Was gonna say that, celerons are the cheaper versions of pentiums and heard bad stuff about it, thats why there are extrememly cheap
I personally am pentium fan as well as intel centrino fan!!!!!!!!!
1 word: Sarcasm. ;)Originally Posted by hellprowler
As for Celerons, they aren't bad, not for games at least, basicly it can do less at a time, now you would think that makes them slower in games, but that's not really true, when it has to only do a few things then it's just as fast as a other processor, but when you need to do a lot then it will be way slower.
Still i'm not a big fan of them either, neither am i of Duron, which has basicly the same idea as Celeron, it's just more powerfull.
Celerons are only a good alternative because their cheap, if compared to a Pentium 4. But since AMD Athlon is around, that all goes out the window. If you have the money and want a powerful PC (and don't want to build your own), by all means get that Pentium 4 processor. If you know something about how to overclock, go with AMD, especially the Athlon 2500+, which is terribly inexpensive and does wonders for gaming at a low cost.Originally Posted by Faint-
AMD and Pentium lead the field, Celeron with it's lower cache will remain behind until it reaches the 256/512kb mark. Clock speed isn't the only important spec to look at when making your choice, which of course many know now but some are still hung up on GHz.
A good site to check out if you want to learn about this kind of crap
BTW, I'm not trying to diss anyones pc, because celeron is usually fine for the average person. But if your a gamer, I'd strongly suggest the alternative, especially if you don't want to have to ugrade so soon.

AMD is ahead of Pentium when comes to graphics.
Though slower whith coding etc.
And MUCH slower when conerting a large amounts of data.
e.g : dvd convertion into divx
I have a AMD athlon on my 3rd PC.
They don't really turn out to be cheap afterall.
If u think about it then :
1 - to get it running properly u need a GOOD motherboard (and generally motherboards for athlon cost more)
2 - they have issues with cooling (i had to buy a zallman cooler for 50$ to cool down my 3200 Athlon 64)
3 - to really get the most of it u need a lot of RAM.
But if u have all that stuff u can forget what it means to change your processor for a few years.
So in the end it's all about price against performance :)
And i am a FAN of AMD processors :)
I could build a nice setup for under $600. Here is just one example of how cheap it can be:Originally Posted by GAD

You could also go with an asus motherboard if you want a little more bang out of your system (perhaps the A7N8X). And of course more RAM is always nice and maybe a dvd rw or just rom.. And of course you can go for a cheaper video card or find one on special, as www.pricewatch.com sometimes holds the key to good deals on em.
I'm not too sure what you mean about motherboards costing more, as you can find good deals for both. And yeah, AMDs can run a bit hotter, but just buy a good aeroflow fan for $30-50 and you won't have to worry about it.
nice site about building pcs

Celerons are fine for gaming, it's when you want to do like video editing that they really don't do the trick.
