popups @ ragezone ??

after clicking on ragezone the other day (using the newest firefox i just installed) while not signed in
a nice popup left me with , what my antivirus classed as a trojan

i told tedelax06 ( a fellow ragezoner from the kal section ) about it and he was quite rude towards me and started saying that ,
"i must have downloaded something or clicked an add for this to have happened"

well i can assure you i did not

anyway , after that i did not open any internet explorers or firefox for about a day
then when i did , i started getting auto sent/directed to dodjy as fuck sites saying shit like , 'scan now'
and 'download this shit to clear your pc of viruses' ffs
i remember having a virus like this about 3 years ago from visiting a site i used to get cracks for games from

and there is only 1 way to sort this out as most of you will know FORMAT (for 1st time in over a year)

so with a clean pc , a fresh install of windows ,
and google toolbar with popup blocker on internet explorer
i came back to ragezone
good old ie ,
the poopup blocker managed to block 6 popups by the time i finished signing in

( most of you reading this are now saying "what a twat" and "internet explorer sucks ass use firefox"
well, i never liked firefox , it did have all the popup blocking settings right and shit when it allowed a popup from hear to fuck my pc over )

tedelax06 recons that i am the only person out of "30,000" or something
to experience these type of problems from viewing ragezone
and i said to him ,
well if some1 had these problems from viewing ragezone
#1 they would not bother to make an account , and
#2 they would not be arround for long enuff to get his msn address and talk to him about it
also i now add , if you search for ragezone in yahoo/ google
the list of links given all have big red warning signs on them - (dont start saying , well you have seen the warnings)

my question to you all is ,
have you had these types of problems or not ( without having downloaded something or clicking on an add ) ,

and my appeal to ragezone is ,
for fuck sake, if you want ppl to subscribe , then sort this shit out

having advertisements is one thing ,
but allowning the type of adverts which spam you with harmfull popups to infecting sites unknown
is just pezzy as fuck and completely unprofessional in my point of view

if i was building a site/forum of any kind then i would make sure it was safe to view and popup free
for , no matter what type of explorer or firefox you might want to use
and if u look at my website you can see i am a propa ammeture in that field

sort your shit out and sort it out fast
then people will likely feel less inclined to hack the server once a week
like they have been doing just lately
and more people WILL subscribe and pay you out of the kindness of there supportive hearts

i had thought of subscribing hear a few times , but then i thought ... why
and now im thinking ...
why pay for a forum that cant be bothered to make it a safe place for not logged in users / viewers

i never used firefox befor this shit happened,( like i said i never liked it, or the look of it)
and untill the popups stop ,
i am scared to delete my brouser history or even sign out from hear
shit
if it was not for the fact i have been a ragezoner for over a year now , i would not ever return


it would be nice to see what the moderators have to say about this befor they take attitude to delete thread like i guess one of them will

happened to me once too. just finished formatting, came to rz to set my auto login and something downloaded in to my pc and changed my desktop background. removed the screen saver and background tabs in the display properties too.

Wanna complain complain to Adsense or adbrite or whatever random ad it is , the worm is from 99 ( and i can tell you that for over 5 years - aka since 2003 I never ever EVER had that popup )

its just certain popups that happen rarely. I had nod32 running at the time it happened to me, but I can browse rz without logging in and not even using an antivirus on my other pc and nothing has ever happened to it.

ther is nothing any antivirus can do about it, it rapidly spreds throught your pc leaving shit files everywhere,
and you dont know it is there untill you open an explorer and it directs you to another shit virus which dose the same and so on

i was using this version of firefox because i saw some ppl on this forum saying it's the shiznis,
and that it blocks everything , well it did not

Kaspersky is what i advise pc illiterate noobs to use, and it is a major unnecisary recource hog ,
install it then spend an hour adding all the safe stuff you run to the allow list then install kalonline
(original not private server clients) and it will tell you that the kal engine is a keyloger,
it will also tell you that the kal engine is msn YES MSN

most pc users i know from all corners of the world , use the cracked version of nod 32
because it runs the most efficiently , and updates daily

i guess you never experienced this particular virus yourself, or you would not contradict me by saying
"i bet you did click something"
i never cought this rare virus while using ie7 only with ie6 and the new ff and you dont need to click for it as
if encountered it kicks the shit out of any add blocker and then procedes to jump straight down your throat

and shit , you say its my job to complain to the add company about it , get real ,

tell you it happens to be in one of there rare adds ,
so in my opinion it is ragezones responsibility and duty to notify the add company about it

but that "we dont care you complain" attitude is stopping more ppl from subscribing ,

1. A decent UPDATED antivirus WILL stop anything from attacking your system. THAT-IS-WHAT-THEY-ARE-FOR. If you REALLY want to argue this fact further, i can move this to the Hardware/Software section where about 20 others will tell you exactly this.

2. RaGEZONE does NOT have a say in what ads are broadcasted, that is up to the discretion of GOOGLE. Stop complaining here, go take it up with them. Good luck.

3. Popups are ONLY for members who are NOT LOGGED IN. If it is such a hassle to you, then click that little square next to the username field which says "REMEMBER ME".

4. Only an idiot like you would format his PC just cos of a virus from a popup. Yet again this goes back to your antivirus. If you had an UPDATED antivirus, not only would you not have got the virus in the first place, but you would also be able to use it to remove the virus if it still somehow got on your system.

Yes, you are the idiot for formatting. I could have used my current antivirus ad removed the virus 100% from my system in no more than 10 minutes. I think it's safe to bet that it took you more than 10 minutes to reformat + re-install everything + put back on all your old settings.

Yes new viruses are created everyday, but not new TYPES. It is extremely hard to create a different type of virus, and that is the only way it's gonna go through your antivirus. I automatically update my antivirus every morning, and i have not had a single virus in over 6 months. I scanned recently with Spybot to remove all of the spyware i thought i had because i had not scanned in about 3 months... there was nothing at all. not a single piece of spyware. And i don't use the net carefully, i get serial keys, cracks, and no-cd patches almost daily from different sources - even ones that my antivirus says is known to have viruses. Yea, my antivirus tells me what sites are known to have viruses, that is how an updated antivirus SHOULD be working.

And i don't see what browser history has to do with anything, i never delete it.

windows XP student edition , formats and installs quite rapidly average 15 minutes = back to desktop
