But there is a plot... no movie would ever go thorough to the cinema if there was no plot...
I just realized something. I haven't watched it yet, so I might be trash talking.
I think the plot is the conspiracy that the world will end in 2012 because it is the end of the Mayan calendar. This just poped up in my head like 1 minute ago, when I was ordering tickets.

Don't compare it to The Day After Tomorrow or any other movie. Watch the movie like you haven't seen anything similar before. Only then can you actually enjoy it. People should really stop being hyper-critics when they really aren't. (ain't talkin about you. Just sayin it out in General. :P )Quote:

The characters aren't even characters, they're single personality traits dressed up in human suits. When it's most convenient, they transform into convenient stepping stones for the plot. Like when Peet's plastic surgeon boyfriend happens to know how to fly a plane. Or when Cusack, mankind's least published author, also happens to also be the human being best equipped to navigate raining automobiles, failing skyscrapers and, most impressively, Los Angeles traffic in a fucking limo.

I think the movie was brilliant! Great messages, very impressive graphics, emotion and acting. 10/10. One of the best movies i've seen so far this year.
Yet I do have to agree that there were many cliches moments and deus ex machina ones too. I mean out of nowhere the plastic surgeon that flew a plane in simulation only can fly a real plane and with perfect grip in addition to that, avoiding all the obstacles with grace and landing it on a unstable road. Its only one of those moments and there were many of them. Thats the only bad points i saw in the movie.

Watching this movie in about 2 hours and i heard its extremely Long. Only about 30 mins of the movie is actually disaster.
Movie really wasn't too bad, but I was out with friends, which made it a whole lot better.
Effects are nice, plots a bit dry in places, but hey, its 2.5 hours.
I personally think that the best way to enjoy this movie would to
1) Watch it in the CINEMA/THEATERE.
2) Watch it with friends.

If we aren't able to build a mega ship then we will all die! I guess that is what the director is trying to portray in the movie! The effin date turns back to 0001, which should of been 2013 because it proves that mankind actually went through it.
EDIT: I really hate how they gave atleast 30-45 mins towards the end. Where they try to fix the Hydro mechanics part of the ship. That was so Unnecessary!
