Re: R.I.P the ones who died on the Apocalypse
I am quite tired of this Apocalypse crap already. (In response to people committing suicide) If you committed suicide for a "legitimate" reason, Rest in Peace. If you committed suicide out of fears of the "End of the World", Thank God that you're gone you stupid motherfucker. Why would you commit suicide if you believe it's the end of the world? Don't you realize if it's the end of the world, it's the end of the world? You'll die anyway, dumb fuck. Anyway, Rest in Purgatory, dumbass. If only people realized that the Mayan Calendar was a load of shit. The rumors created were like saying, "GUYS, GUESS WHAT? THE CALENDAR ENDS ON DECEMBER 31ST! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!" If people spent half as much time doing something productive, rather then predicting the end of the world, the world would be much more worth living in. -.- Fuck these people.

Fact: FBI and the Police would have nothing to do with his message via the internet. If he said it publicly, it would be a Police matter, if he took it up a level and homocide(s) occurred in his area then it would be elevated to the FBI (Federal Borough of Investigation). The FBI is only called for investigations, quit watching movies, they're not the ones who intercept the messages sent via the internet. The NSA (National Security Agency) monitors computers, phones, internet, and all forms of communication. So, technically the second he made that threat, he's been entered into a National Database of possible threats to the citizens in the United States. He'll be monitored temporarily, most likely, but will be dropped once confirmed that he is not a threat. Get your facts straight, js'in. c:

People committed suicide because it was better than going out with the end of the world. I don't know, it's just a religious principle.
Oh and that part about the FBI, I don't think that's right...

We had so many threads on the apocalypse, but really death happens all the time, all around us. We all die, why do we keep trying to find a date when everyone dies?
I'd love to know how long I'm gonna live. So I can plan my life accordingly. :/

You'd go paranoid and probably suicide longer before the date of your predicted death.
Why?
Everyone's scared to die, no exceptions.
Well, Chuck Norris isn't..

Wrong, everyone is NOT afraid to die. Otherwise people would already be insane.
I for one know for a fact I'm not afraid to die.

Actually it's a well know fact many human traits and issues can be traced back to death. It's just generally not part of your concious mind. Subconsciously, we are all terrified by death, for good reason. Every religion was created specifically to try answer that question.
Trying to live healthily = don't want to die. Trying to be rich = worried there is nothing after this life. Family = spreading genes so even after you die, your essence will live on.
People who are not afraid to die have already committed suicide. If you are still alive, it's specifically because you don't want to die.
Re: R.I.P the ones who died on the Apocalypse
Being afraid and not wanting to are two totally different things.
I don't want to be any closer to bugs then I have to be, but does that means I'm afraid of them? Hell naw, I'm usually the first person to pick one up and put it in back into it's habitat.
Just because someone isn't afraid to die doesn't mean they'd suddenly kill themselve. What do you say about people who've served in the military their entire lives. If they were afraid to lose their life, they certainly wouldn't have chosen that profession. That certainly wasn't what I thought when I signed up.
I also know this because I was face to face with death once. There was no fear to be seen, I was glad actually. But does that mean I'm going to go and commit suicide? No, wth for? I enjoy life, there's no need to rid of something you enjoy, but at the same time I'm in no dire rush to preserve it either. The same way life is enjoyable, it's also pointless. More so pointless then anything imo. You live, then you die, and what's changed? Little if anything. The world keeps turning without you.
Also, have you ever tried to kill yourself? I doubt it, as far as I'm concerned people who kill themselves are more brave then the people who don't. Because they DON'T know what's after death, and even so, they overcome that fear and end their own life with no promise to what comes after. It's easy to choose to live, what's hard is choosing not to.

Sounds like you just don't want to admit it. It's not a bad thing being afraid to die, like I said most human traits comes directly from it. I really feel like I'm becoming RZs therapist these days.
If you don't want to be close to a bug, you probably are afraid in some part of your subconscious. It's most likely part of your lower animal brain that is telling you not to go near it, it could be poisonous. Most likely an evolutionary trait, or a mini angel or something if you are religious, that we have inherited from past generations. You picking it up is your conscious over riding that part of your brain, our brains are layered like that (ie emotions can override our logical side etc).
I've always thought of people who join the army as slightly suicidal tbh. But really armed forces is a very difficult subject for me, I'm very conflicted between my hatred of violence (my conscious) and survival (my subconscious). It's also why I still haven't joined the air force, even though I'd really like to, I was in the cadets and kept going to recruitment presentations, I just don't want to hurt anyone. :(
See I think you understand in the same way I do, consciously you are fine with death, subconsciously you are afraid. Essentially it becomes an impartiality, if it happens it happens.
I've had suicidal feelings in the past though I try not to think about it any more. It's easy to kill yourself frankly, scarcely easy if you think about it. They aren't brave, death is the easy way out, fixing your life is far harder. All suicide is, is choosing nothing (or hell, as afaik killing yourself is a sin in most religions?) over what your current circumstance is. If your life is that low, it's hardly brave as the decision becomes logical to you. For me it was daily torture of being bullied, thankfully I found the internet before anything happened (and social media didn't exist back then!)
