As for phpbb, wasn't RZ originally hosted with it? You should of PMed them back alliterating you were asking for the reason, not the software.
RZ was founded way back as a wrestling forum. He was late 14. The forum was open earlier than that as a wrestling forum I believe.
I did tell the guy. He later told me the right answer and we had a good laugh :ott1:. Unfortunately, he didn't post a speech therefore got eliminated.
Oh by the way guys, I just realized that in troublemaker's speech, he's telling people that if they don't vote for him, he's a retard. The contest, you're supposed to vote to eliminate so troublemakers telling people to eliminate him otherwise theyre retarded. Hahahahahaha

You shouldn't have said that.
Otherwise, I could've had a better chance at winning! :D

Re: RaGEZONE President 2009 - 2010 - Round 2 Voting
Using 3rd party voting systems that rely only on IP tracking is just STUPID. You do realize I can easily determine the winner at any point that I wish? How? For starters I will just run an IP randomizer to constantly change my IP address. Next I just write a simple bot that keeps sending out the packets.
The combination of the two will provide me with unlimited votes which will cause me to rig the election in a matter of seconds. It's not even hard to do. Though some people are unable to write a bot but still, they can manually click the links. An IP randomizer is easy to find after all.

I kind of wish you hadn't told that, but at the same time, I'm glad you did.

Who would go through the trouble for a fake forum president?

Look through the older ones. I said it then and actually did use it just to prove a point.

Setting up a website in them early days would have cost quite a bit imo, and 14 to me sounds a bit young. I did check the whois and it said RZ was registered in 2001, but I'm not so sure it was really set up till 2002. Frankly if it was running in 2001 till ~02/03 as a wrestling forum then just dropping it instantly to become a mir2 server forum would be a bit much. I think it's more likely that it was a wrestling forum for a few months with little success and then become RZ as we know it today. I don't think you can do by the whois date because registering a domain isn't the same as creating a site. And frankly it's a bit of a cheat going by that date because any fool can go do a whois search, lol.
And I agree, the voting should be done on RZ.

Agreed. But again, like NoPeace said, you could still change your IP, make a new account, wait for someone to post, post after them, repeat. So either way, >.>

Public voting = I ban/delete all accounts with sub 100 posts.

Voting FOR me would be voting for anyone but me. If you clicked my name, it'd be voting AGAINST me. Furthermore, almost every speech contains some variation "vote for me", not just mine. Please use some common sense before attempting a "sick burn".

You realize that I keep a log of all votes by half-hour basis. I removed the votes and you're not the only person to do it.
In the past elections, moderators were modifying the polls in their favor (abuse of power) and I got sick of it so I made a separate website so they can't do it. Some moderators here play Xbox and they would love to get their hands on the 1month or 800 points cards that the winner will receive so they'll rig the poll for a buddy of theirs then stuff...
By the way, troublemaker I was just playing. Chill your nipples. I just love your speech man. It's really inspiring. Your speech is the only one I actually read. :P

Fairly sure only supers have the power to edit a poll. By making it public you can easily see if it has been edited because the votes and people who have voted don't tally up.

That's a good idea. I'll use RZ in the next voting round (Round 4 and Round 6)
The problem is that I want the suspense. By making the poll public, people will already know who won many days ahead of the end date.
I'm still planning round 3. (it's not voting)

Re: RaGEZONE President 2009 - 2010 - Round 2 Voting
Actually I removed the infraction after understanding my mistake. PMed the user and said I was sorry.
But I guess that side of the story wasn't worth telling for some people.
I lol'ed when he got infraction banned for spaming another thread. He just can't keep his shit together.
6 pages of infractions say you don't get power abused, you just don't get how posting in a forum goes.

Re: RaGEZONE President 2009 - 2010 - Round 2 Voting
After reading half the posts in this thread it looks like nobody knows the answers anyways, so I'm calling this whole thing Shenanigans, in the hopes that someone who was actually around back then can run this.

Frankly I agree.
I think a restart is in order.
Get everyone who wants to join in to each write a speech like you have done. Do a vote and the top 1/3 go through. You will get similar numbers as you currently have, but without the farse of a quiz you have created. Since when has general knowledge been a good definer on who would be able to run something? I don't see Stephen Hawking as prime minister, no, he's too busy being on star trek, etc!

So, you're saying you don't have to know how to play basketball, yet you can referee a game? It's the same concept as running the forums. You have to know things to keep it in order.

You have to know how old Dan was when he founded Rz to know how to keep order?

I think the idea behind his point was you should at least know something about RZ to be able to help run stuff. And in all honesty why has everyone killed the fun spirit of this and flicked the serious business switch? Come on guys, why so serious?
