Ranting Section?
Had a shitty day? Need to blow off some steam? Tired of people treating you like crap? What about a section where you can just rant about (almost) anything you want?

All the details and main ideas are there in that thread, but since some people seem to think it could work, thought I'd post a poll here.

As I already mentioned - as long as it doesnt get real vulgar and ugly, this would work nice. you got my vote!

The way you described it won't work, i can tell you this, people won't stop flaming because they're scared of a ban, so if you start shit there, than it will only spread to other sections, not to mention that it will create a negative atmosphere.
Both with expierence as a mod/admin and as a flamer, i know both sides, and i can assure you that this won't work as you want it to, people's emotions can't be controlled, so it will only end up with banned people.
Well, it would be cool, but there would be people that would say "get over it you noob" or something a like to ranting people :(

I don't like the idea. starts flaming and hate about people. Just don't see it working all too well.
I agree with you. I'd rather see some rants in the spam section better than having a rant section with all the shits in there that would make people angry.
Theres both possitive and negatives to this idea. The possitive part is a section like this will help people vent, get stuff off there chest and over all make them feel better about the problems there having as this person will have people to talk to. (the people of RZ).
The downside to this, is this website is accessible to the ages of 13+, so its inevitable that immature comments and flamming will take place on a subject you might consider sensitive, especially if its personal.
The only way I'll ever see such a section working is if its only accessible by ages 18+, because theres idiots everywhere.
agreed with raff. i say yes because i know and ALL of us know life can be incredibly stressful, and i think it would be nice if all of us RZers could come together and vent our problems with each other. however, as raiden said, i would hate for it to get really nasty where minors could access it. if it happens, there should be a rulewhere if you dont have something nice/reassuring/comforting to say to the person who is venting, then dont say anything at all. just my very humble opinion.

If you havent noticed - ranting about another person is just a minor part of it as mentioned. Ranting about politics, school, life, society can lead to very interesting conversation and personal thoughts can be put into play.
All your posts (sparing 1) have monopolized it to flaming another forum member. Is it because you're hell bent on not trying to understand it or is it because you just fail to read?
As I said, this section would be nice coz there would be so many topics to be discussed from people all over the world and make it nice. Well, maybe Rish didnt put it exactly in the proper words but hell yeah - he mentioned what could be in there and most of those are better material for the Spamzilla but not as good to be in the Outerworld.
We could go for it but put a restriction on the posting level or something so that we can restrain it to a certain extent and end up having a section of intellectual posts with solutions and thoughts about all the shyt in life. Think.

Flame wars quite often start in a very stupid way, i remember back when everyone on the RZ forums played Mir 2 (that was the only reason to come here back then) that people were very much divided, if person a joined guild a, and person b would join guild b, then they would be flaming each other on the forums, not because they disliked each other, but they were in opposit guilds. By the time they realised how stupid it was, already so much damage was done that they could no longer see past it.A section without the flaming rule, so you can rant as much as you want about a certain subject, person, social practice, RaGEZONE member, or anything else that pisses you off and you just want to rant about it and see if anyone else feels the same way? Let people rant about other members if they did something to piss them off real bad? Let them settle it like real men instead of having a mod close it for clashing with the rules or being off topic? I could also be used as an actual archive for those good 'ol gang flame wars?
While there are no guilds or anything on the forums, there are definetly friend groups, for example when i'm in a group convo on MSN, then it almost always has the same group of people in it (mostly Supermods, so watch out! :D), so you somewhat got groups, so if person a flames someone, then person b will respond, person a will flame some more and person b + some friends will flame person a, then person a and his friends will flame person b and his friends, and before you know it you got dozens of people flaming each other, and those could be very well good RZ members.
Ofcourse you could argue that it will stay there because in the rest of the forum it will get you a infraction, but that will lead to little stabs, not enough to infract a person for, but enough to get people pissed off, which will sooner or later start flames outside that section.
This simply would escalate, and it's not something you could stop.
He indeed said that initially but he compromised on that fact in the posts that followed. This is just like an initial raw form of the section. We can sit down and frame it up proper. Major flaming to be kept out. And we'd be giving the section the name RANT and not FLAME and am sure we can come up with a set of rules to keep it clean in there (atleast not ugly) .... We could think of it from a different perspective rather than totally crushing the idea up.
What bothered me was - people totally concentrated on the member flaming point ignoring the rest of the things that could be discussed in there totally. Now that is just ignorance.
