press the power button on the front of the PC :o.... that tends to shut down windows XP and restarts it LOL. If you mean your reinstalling windows well thats simple.... put the XP CD in n follow the instructions..... If your formating your PC...... well u should look into it more first lol.

    Access DOS prompt.

    Format C:/

It will ask are you sure... press Y

It will begin formatting. Make sure you've back up everything and have a Windows XP disc.

Then go into your BIOS and set it so that it reads either CD/Floppy Disc first (depending on if you have a boot up disc)

Then install Windows. Ta da you done.

Takes about 3-4 hours tops if you know what you're doing.

    :)

Best way to format i find is to plug another hard drive in.... That way you can back up your folders and formating is easy (if you have an OS on each one). I formated my other hard drive by making it the D:\ and going on my C:\ OS... into command prompt and simply type formate D:\. Simple as that..... but if you dont have another hard drive...... Beat it with a stick? I think windows XP has its own version of formating..... but its not that good.

the way cap explained it, u dont gotta do it that way..

u should have got a little red disk with ya pc (floppy or CD)

if its floppy back up thnigs u want then turn off pc insert disc
turn on pc and follow it thru (very easy)

or just insert the cd and follow it thru

u should also read the manual that came with the pc

    good luck
