Pantera was good for its time, now it's 20 years ago. However, I ask, "where the fuck was security?!" Then I ask myself, "who cares about Pantera?"

The security allowed the guy on stage, of course they thought he was a crowd surfer, but they were quite wrong.

because i want to, and i dont see the point in posting 'i hated pantera' or some shit like that, seems pretty stupid to me.

he gets more respect because he did something with his life and helped change the face of metal

I agree with Ex, just another man. By the way, Metallica is labeled with that, Pantera hopped on the bandwagon.

Well, it seems that we have here a man who can't understand the way the world works. No means for flaming, but i don't think you realised that we're not all equal.

As human beings, we are human beings, we're equal at that, but once you fight and struggle to achieve something, you deserve respect and your baiscly saying, why should we care for a man that got the respect of so many? Fans across the world were dissapointed to hear about this death, i personally am, because i love pantera, i love the music, and i appreciate the artist.

I don't see why you had to say that we're all equal in this situation, what would you do if you mom died, would you cry? but we're all equal, she's just another human, why should anybody care?
In this scenario people that like pantera care, because we cared for the person makin the music. Now, before you hurt anyone elses feelings, shus on this thread.

    RIP Dimebag

PS, should of let the mosh taken care of the murderer, the quick death the copper gave him is only mercy to his soul.

Metallica is a lot newer than pantera, metallica is the one who hopped on the bandwagon, don't get me wrong, i like metallica, but pantera will be the gods of metal for me, metallica is just rock, they changed their ideas with their st anger album, where's RIDE THE LIGHTNING, they just overcommercialised.

yeah he got the respect from many but i still dont understand why he should get more treatment then any other. Doctors, nurses, teachers struggle and try 2 achieve something useful for the country yet when they die, they dont get the same sort of respect these musical gets. Thats why i'm not gonna say what a great guy or whatt have ya. just RIP like any other person that dies. dont get me wrong like their music but i'm not gonna make him a gr8 person in my mind.

I had the same thought about it but when you come to more in depth reasons, what does music do for us? It allows us to express emotion and tune in with what is happening in the song. I do admire doctors and teachers etc, but at the end of the day, what's rarer, get's more money and the most professionals get them too. Also, there are rich worldwide known teachers and doctors, that had their fame when they died,

However, because of our younger generation, we are more aware of the things happening around us now whilst our older generation, those the same age or 10 years younger or so, will sympasise with a really good doctor when he or she dies. It does happen, but i doubt many people of this generation will understand what it's like for the world to loose a great mind, it's more likely that they will relate to a popular person dieing.

What's happening is that your rebelling against the change, and that's what makes you stand out, deep words from a mature mind.

damn :(...wish this didnt happen, also shadowsfall love the name that band kicks ass!!!, i am gonna miss pantera, but at least we got some great songs from them to still enjoy today, artists are greater appreciated when dead, so at least the remaining band members will get money, who knows maybe they will market a dvd or something for the rememberance of dimebag.

All the twats that think they know Dime can fuck off. Some of you clearly ain't got a clue what ur talkin about.

All the twats that are disrespecting in a respect thread- fuck yourselves.

All the twats.. you get the point.

The man was fucking amazing. He changed metal and seemed to be the only one keepin the riffin real all the way. Show some fucking respect or don't mention his name.

You retards piss me off running ur mouths bout 'tallica and shit like ur the metal gods or sum shit. There was no jumping on the fucking bandwagon. Pantera's 1st proper release (in the style that made them who they are) was in 1990. The band's been goin since the 80s but 'tallica were around a bit before. The only thing that links em is that they're both thrash bands but the styles r fucking NOTHING like eachother cept the thrash link. No-one copied ne1.

As for his work bein more respected after dyin, u gotta b shittin me. There's never been a lack of repect for this man's riffage in the metal world.

Seems ignorence is fucking bliss around here.

    R.I.P. Dime

BTW Phil did a Metal Hammer interview (b4 Dime's death). It was the usual blah blah, I h8 em blah blah but when he was asked about Pantera reforming he sed sumthin like 'it'd take a lot of soul searching' and shit like that. How much does that fucking suck? They mite've got back 2gether in the future. No chance now...
