Rogers is a fail?

So I have this bandwidth monitoring tool and throughout this month it's been going perfect with monitoring.

So I haven't checked it in a few couple days then I notice it has some outrageous amount of numbers in gigabyte usage.

I'm just here wondering, and they have been calling for the past few days but I never answered cause majority of the time they are asking for promotions in which I took 1 before.


Rogers hasn't ever been that reliable with their service they always overcharge for some stupidness.

If I'm paying $60 / ea month for internet solo and this "Usage" that the monitor displays well I'll be screwed for life.

I've tried using other monitors and i've given them a call but they put me on hold for the longest amount of time then I realize I never get to talk unless I go up store.


Has anyone else ran into a issue like this? My bill payment is revealed next month the 4th.

~I don't download any big files, everything is always below 100MB... LOL come to think about it is it even possible to use that much in a day?

You need to talk to your provider because if that was me, I'd be royally screwed money wise. I don't think it's even possible for one or two computer combined in a household to even get to get that high.

Thats could be reached if you have something on your computer constantly contacting a server...say a virus...

Let's look at it by the numbers...there are 86400 seconds in a day...if something sends 1mb a sec your looking at 86400mb a day...thats....wait...thats only 84gb a day...WOW...yea somethings not right...

Make sure to do a malware scan too as some anti-viruses don't pick up the same things as Malwarebytes!

Yea but even if he was looking at alot of porn...if he was transfering 1mb a sec 24 hours a day thats only 84 gb a day....2mb a sec 168 gb a day....

He would have to be nearly maxing out his bandwidth every second of the day to reach 250+gb a day...

You might have to, but to be on the safe side I'd ring the ISP and explain the situation. They might waive the charges before your next bill comes because 2.5TB of received data over 8 days obviously isn't normal and with a valid explanation and if the boss is in a good mood maybe they'll be nice to you :P If not, you might be hit with a hefty bill.
