Lol u can get more that 100 FPS easy, Download MaxFps so youre Gun Models is dissapearing and download Gamma reso that also helps and the rest is up to how good youre computer, btw theese settings i use:
rate 99999
ps_max 99999
cl_cmdrate 999
cl_updaterate 999
and more.

i Notice that you guys dont know CS very good, because you didnt know that you could get more than 100 fps.....

as it happens I thought the max rates (for 1.6 at least) were:
rate 20000 online (25000 LAN)
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
also, Cap is righ, if u set fps_max to 500 and enable developer 1 u can get a lot more fps, unfortunately it lowers the speed u run ingame for some reason. It's mainly for map makers to find the points that generally create the most lag (or it's what i've been told)
Edit: Oh and Obbob, ex was talking about not getting over 100fps on 1.6 not source.

Mmm...Counter-Strike. Can the graphics possibly get any worse? As of now I do not know of any good online shooters. I know people go insane over playing Counter-Strike, and a large majority of the people who play America's Army would hang themselves if they did not play for a whole 30 seconds. Kind of strange playing America's Army, if for example you live in Europe. Doom III isn't as famous as Counter-Strike, you might ask someone have you ever played a game called Doom? And their reply would be something like this: "Uhh...doooooom wat is dat?" I find Doom alot more enjoyable then Counter-Strike, since it is the original first person shooter. Some people try to argue Counter-Strike is better over Doom, but what can you proove? Doom was out way before Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike was made because of Doom. Doom>Quake>Half-Life. I can obviously see why more people would play the first Half-Life rather then the original Doom. Would you play a game with 2D graphics compared to a game with graphics that are so improved with better picture quality and sound effects? You can argue Half-Life being better then Doom all you want, but Doom was the original and is the best. Cant argue over hard facts, although democrats can. Way too many people use hacks on online shooters. Counter-Strike especially.

it is NOT possible to get a higher frame rate than the monitor refresh rate - that screenshot could be someone with a 120Hz monitor - the simple fact is you cant get more than 100 frames per second on a 100Hz max monitor, because it cant refresh more than 100 times per second
