A samurai sword as you so put it IS a katana.. A ninja in fantasy terms wouldnt use anything larger than a Ko-dachi which is basicly a shorter version of a katana.. A real ninja woul also be using a katana but in a bit diffrent way than a samurai..

I am telling you guys the truth, a Samurai will win, period. I will not expond, since this is probably the third thread of its nature, where I have previously explained. Stop watching Naruto, or whatever gives YOU the need to talk upon taboo crapola. Better yet, why not do some martial arts, and learn for yourself.
