Ooh, thanks. I will give it a try :D. Our admins are pretty dumb :P, we hacked the system twice, and I have most passwords of teacher XD.
Perhaps I can now finally click my own ads *oops* :P :D

Re: Schools Security (Web)
I think websense is what we have at our school, we also arent allowed to run any unauthorized .exe's otherwise fun would ensue. Funny thing is they have like 3 extranets and i can log onto my school account from home, so the IT department aren't total lackwits.
Anyway quick way of finding a proxy
1. go to google
2. type "inurl:nph-proxy"
That'll bring up virtually every proxy google knows off except the ones without nph-proxy in the url, which is very few.

Re: Schools Security (Web)
Isn't WebSense Similar to X-STOP?

High school in the US is a joke, you dont learn shit. You learn how to take standardized tests, thats about it.
-
Re: Schools Security (Web)
That's because you're taking a bad course.

Couldn't agree more. They set up the filters for a reason. When you're older people, you will regret browsing the internet instead of learning - especially when people around you are having a decent life and you aren't.
The question is - which is more important in life? Your future or wasting time trying to avoid the school filter (which is protected by sophisticated programs).

Only had a few classes in high school where we actually learned shit instead of getting ready for standardized tests. Physics/Calculus/Anatomy, everything else was worthless. Oh but we did good on standardized tests! lawl. School gets more money, learning is minimum.

Re: Schools Security (Web)
think it would work if we use a portable usb browser?

Yes, when you actually have to do something at the pc, sure, than you shouldnt visit the internet all the time. But at our school we have so few things to do, (except before the testweek), soo boring. So when a lession takes place in the pc classrooms I just browse the internet :P.
Our school uses novell, but they bought some new pc's of sun microsystems... we can run all sorts of .exe's, they just block flash or JS stuff. (and certain sites)

Re: Schools Security (Web)
if you have your own game server set up at your house, you could just create a folder...then just go to a proxy site and copy the source and paste it into your folder...
I dont know if that will work, but when i was in high school that's what I did for web messengering. The school kept blocking all the messenger sites, so I would just change the file name. Worked Great.

Sure he could become a bum on the street.....Or he could spend all his time trying to get past it, keep at it, and become a computer programmer for a leading security company.....
You don't know him, so why tell him what to do... It's people like YOU that limit people's potential.

Agree with DaCheat, just shut up and try answer the man's question. Partially the fall for our educational system (UK) is the government guessing what Kids need/want to learn.
Usually end up flat on there faces.

-
Re: Schools Security (Web)
I'll try the few proxies above. About the IP's, sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn't.
Dandune, if you not going to be on topic, don't post :icon6:. As for the others, stop flaming my topic ;).

Re: Schools Security (Web)
Use the fastest and best proxy out there:
Google Translate

Re: Schools Security (Web)
let's see: (blocked through the acl)
-https (yes they blocked the protocol -.-)
-altavista
-google translate
-google images
-google
-youtube
-ytmnd (OMG WHY....)
I could go on. You're really screwed if they add anything to the acl (access control list). Some teachers were seeing kids in web design getting onto myspace (I was in the room at the time) and she (the teacher) notified the admins of the board. ACL...well unless you have the pass, there's nothing you can do. Websense is nothing compared to a physical block :\ you can still get around it, but it doesn't work all the time. the school network at my old school had "fortiguard" which was awful.

I'll try that Monday, I tried Firefox on the USB drive (u3), but wouldn't connect. So I'll try Opera.
