Cheap Chocolate!?
That's a first.
They're kids, let them enjoy it whilst they can.
I thought it was a well-known fact that buying in bulk is cheaper?
I never said it was. But you're making it sound like it's a new thing...
Sugar turns to fat, thats why drinking to much coke is bad for you, Coke has 35grams of sugar or something (6 teaspoons or whatever), it has 137 calories, and once that sugar turns to fat the calories in there must be like 400...
When I was 13 I was aware of calorie intake for adults only lol, Anyway it isn't the shops fault, The kid will be pissed off if the shop keeper denies to sell to him/her, So he will lose business, anyway I've bought them a few times but ate them over a few days, I'm not big on chocolate, Its just coke I love lol.
I always figured it was LOADED with sugar, I may turn to that, Or Pepsi Max, I consider myself fit right now, I can jog 2 miles easily before I get tired but I've considered trying Pepsi Max, it taste pretty much like Normal Pepsi, but without the sugary shit, and my teeth are starting to be affected even after brushing for 5 minutes x 2 a day (twice a day) with the Sugar in Coke, Starting from Tomorrow I'm gonna give Pepsi Max a shot, maybe a coke every 2 -3 days lol.
Talking about hobos and cardboard boxes.
If your at school and i think this is what your talking about then you have to do atleast 2hrs of exercise a week so there is some exercise also people who normally buy the chocolate i suppose they walked to school which is also exercise, also many boys do football.
It's not the shop's concern really - parents need to do some parenting.
I've gotta agree with Ron, it all depends on how active you are. Personally, I can't eat that much chocolate otherwise I'll pass out, but as for them, I sure hope and pray that they're active. Otherwise you'll see the morbidly obese rate skyrocket. ;)

You're only scratching the surface here with those chocolate bars. Yes it is an issue, but frankly there are much bigger issues concerning food.
In general healthy food is more expensive then bad food, just go in a store and see what the prices are, look at all the bakery, salty snacks, candy and deep fried food. They are just dead cheap and I don't know how the UK compares to other countries, but compared to the Netherlands it's definitely worse. It's already bad here, but it takes the piss how cheap crisps are in the UK.
It should be simple, if you want something to snack, then fruits need to be cheaper then crisps etc, this can easily be done, but I guess the lobbying is quite strong to keep it as it is.
This of course wouldn't stop kids from buy chocolates, but if they cut taxes on fruits and reduce the prices on top of it (there is more then enough anyway), then most of us would start eating a lot healthier. All of that would reduce obesity, reduce medical costs due to healthier body, improve quality of life since it gives people a healthier body that actually agrees with the food you eat and helps you feeling better mentally as well, because a lack of vitamins etc is devastating for your mental well being.
Crisps aren't cheap in the UK, a 50g bag costs nearly 60p now. I remember when they used to be 40p for a bag that size.
Also fruit sucks, if you put the prices of chocolate up and the price of fruit down, kids will just get more money from their parents to buy chocolate or not buy anything. I know at that age if I had the choice of fruit or nothing it would've been nothing.
I think I'm more able to judge your prices seeing as I can actually compare the prices.
As for chocolate vs fruit, like I said it won't stop kids, but it will reduce the amount of chocolate they will eat if they can just grab any amount of fruit at home because the prices are so low.
The point is that you should never have to make a choice money wise, whether you grab fruit or something else.
If I look at myself, if I feel like snacking, then if I got fruit then I will almost always grab fruit, if I run out of fruit then I will turn my place upside down to eat something else. That's reality.
