Weaves are sewn/woven in and extensions are either glued or clipped in... they are the same thing, just can give you a different result depending on what type of hair you are working with (your hair and the hair added).
For example, (typically) African American (black) women get "weaves" and Caucasian (white) women get "extensions" due to hair type.
So yeah...
