Animal cruelty is really horrible...
What he did was truly horrible and completely sick, but before you want him dead, you need to think about what kind of fucked up person he is for doing that and how he got there.
On top of that we got people torturing animals as a profession and most of us pay them money.
The world is fucked up, best thing you can do is rise above it because otherwise you will feel like killing people all the time.

In some (most?) of those cases there is something to be gained as a result. Torture of chickens -- more chicken meat. Scientific discovery, etc. Overpopulation in some areas? Either moving them away or putting them down in a humane manner to alleviate the problem, not holding their legs, bashing their heads against a wall, setting them on fire, or suffocating them, etc.
In these cases, it's just senseless and psychopathic. If they simply don't want the cats, just let them go outside. At least then they have a chance to live if they're capable. The reason these animal cruelty issues cause such anger is because there's no real good reason for it. It seems to be the intentional harm of an innocent and defenseless animal for no reason other than twisted psychopathy. There's a reason this is generally one of the major signs that someone is to be a murderer and/or serial killer in life, and someone this mentally unstable should probably be labeled as insane and held somewhere or given to the mob.

You should check some PETA ads. Btw not a tree-hugger here, like my meat just like the next guy, however lets not pretend that we get our meat in a humane way. For example, a shotgun shell is cheaper then a injection to kill a cow, however a shot to the head doesn't always kill the cow right away, leaving them suffering greatly.
Of course the guy is fucked in the head, but that's not really the point.
There are 2 sides about this video. The inhumane way that he kills the kittens and that he's fucked up. If you look at the death of those kittens then again, our meat industry does a lot worse to their animals and if you look at the guy, then he obviously got fucked up his whole life to be at this point in his life so he needs psychological help.
Neither of these is nearly as shocking as the things we pay for (meat) or what we read daily (rape etc), why people get so upset about this is because you're confronted with it.
We as a people like to believe that things are just dandy, but the truth is far from it. A while ago during our national elections I saw this piece about a fishing boat, now of course we accept the fact that it's not perfect, but when you see them sorting the fish, throwing away the ones that are not good enough, and when I say throwing I really my throwing... at that point they have been out of the water for a while, when the ones that weren't good enough get returned to the water, most of them die. So what they do is fish them up, throw them around, keep them out of the water and then throw them back even though they won't survive.
This is normal, this we find acceptable, at least acceptable enough to keep buying dead animals to fill our plate.
So what we got is the torture and killing of 2 animals which gets done on a extremely large scale for which we pay and on the other hand we got a fucked up kid that I'm guessing didn't turn out this way because he had loving parents and a good life. Yet here the people with their high and mighty morals want him dead.
Life is not black and white. Deal with it.
Again, we find it OK when there is some benefit from it (ie, we get food). This is in every way unjustified, it was just for pure twisted pleasure. This is where outrage comes from. We are semi-disgusted at the way we treat animals who give us our food, but we aren't outraged at the people who do it, after all, we get a delicious new york strip.
No we find it ok so it costs us less, it's because of our greed that we let animals suffer.
But again, separate the two, because you say you are outraged because he killed them due to twisted pleasure he gained from it, so which part outrages you? The way the animals were killed, at which point I refer you to the mass torturing of animals for food, or are you outraged because someone is so fucked up in his head that he could do this? At which point I have to point out that for someone to be this messed up, that this kid must have received some major damage to be this fucked up.
As a society we are so quick to judge people like that, not thinking about how they got that way. Everytime you think "that's just not normal" then think about why it's not normal and what must have happened to someone to do that.
What if this kid got beaten by his family almost every day, would that change your mind? What if he got called a loser etc by his family almost everyday, would that change your mind? What if he got sexually abused his whole life? What if you saw a video of all of that, what if you saw a video of him getting abused his whole life, would that change your mind from 'he needs to die' to 'he needs help'?
I'm not saying 2 wrongs make a right, but people tend to find it easier to judge someone then to understand someone, because we as a society prefer to jail people rather then to treat them, we will keep these people around like this, so what if he gets jailed for this? He will get out in no time since laws are not really made to protect animals, so he will get out, might knock up a girl at some point, at which point he may or may not be in the kids life, if he does then he will fuck that kid up aswell, and that kid will aswell when he/she grows up and the cycle continues on and on.
Your ideas and feelings, while understandable, will not improve life in general, it will only worsen it.
