Only 1 person in the conversation needs to have it. It's not that expensive, €8 monthly. I paid for it when Junkers, Becca and I streamed MC. It worked perfectly.
Another option is to use Google Hangouts.

Only with groups, if Gabe was to put it on Twitch and have Rish in his screen from Skype, then it would still be free. It's free until he wants more then 1 guest.
Re: So you know this whole RZtv thing?
I've known about skypes paid video chats for many years now, and yes google hangouts is probably what I'll use combined with xsplit.
Keep the suggestions coming, the more ideas there are the more this can be polished ad then the pilot wont suck :P
Re: So you know this whole RZtv thing?
Reminds me of the RZ podcasts or whatever we used to have awhile ago that died down fairly quickly. Wouldn't want that to happen again. I like the idea though, I think it could work.

Honestly podcasts are boring anyway.
Re: So you know this whole RZtv thing?
Google Hangouts, up to 7 people video chatting for free :thumbup1:

How about instead of a chat show, it's a games show?
itmeJP - Gaming, Roleplaying, and E-Sports - YouTube
Sort of like what JP does with D&D. I know every party we play board games and MTG etc, how about doing something similar online?
Small World: Wil Wheaton, Jenna Busch, Grant Imahara, Sean Plott. TableTop, Episode 1 - YouTube
Like tabletop, but online? If it's possible anyway.
The problem with podcasts etc is you tend to run out of things to talk about very quickly. Having a constant focus seems to help a lot on other shows.

Some of the tabletop videos have almost a million views. The D&D ones, which are way longer, a few 100k.
The game isn't really the point, it's just something to drive the show forward. A purpose more than just 2 people chatting. The day9 daily for instance has a purpose of teaching SC2 to beginners, but anyone know has watched it knows day9 spends a large amount of the time randomly talking.
All you need to do is engage with the audience. Maybe choose a team game, where all the players are on the same side and have to defeat the game itself (sort of like D&D is vs the GM, but kinda not really), and the audience should get invested in the story and the team. Lasting 4 hours means more people will see it alive tbh. It's more annoying to me when stuff lasts an hour, either I miss most of it, or I'm left wanting more.
Seriously, if it was 4 hours of a bunch of RZ legends trolling each other, I'd expect people to watch it. And if they don't, well fuck them! You've gotten 4 hours of epic banter videoed and saved for future generations.

A type of betting system (organized audience teams for different players) in which there is some kind of reward or special outcome could also keep many watchers interested. Know what I'm saying?

That's not a bad thing when making something that's meant to have multiple episodes, in fact it's brilliant for building and hooking watchers so that it continues to be...watched.....it is a tv show of sorts after all.

That's what we have our random TS sessions for ^_^.
PS: I've had my own TS server for a year now and will probably maintain it for evers because it's really cheap and useful :P

I think I see what you mean but that would change the format of the show from talk show to game show. However we could have small segments that are interchangeable each week, one of which could easily involve a form of competition in which the audience participates by backing a specific host as you suggested.
Re: So you know this whole RZtv thing?
Narr honestly does not matter who it is, people from RZ will not watch you play tabletop games for several hours (or even half an hour) lol. If this was a no-gaming community then it may work, but probs not here.
I think people would be much more interested just watching a few of the RZ regulars talking shit.
Re: So you know this whole RZtv thing?
Group videochat + League of Legends ARAM = messy stuff. (multiple puns intended)
Re: So you know this whole RZtv thing?
So currently the general concept hasn't changed much apart from a few small things that people on this thread have suggested.
1. The show will now have two regular hosts, myself and Junkers and each episode will have one to two guests.
2. Audience participation will be used in segments other than the Q&A at the end of the episode i.e. weekly (episode) competitions pitting hosts and guests against each other while the audience back a specific member of the panel as their choice for victory.
3. ????
4. Profit
