Last fact about $1 for each hanging made me rofl. I earned none today :(
How much you want to bet Africa would use up that money and in 3 years they'd be back in the same hell they're in now? Throwing money at a complex problem like famine/poverty is not only useless, but also hurts the economy.
I don't believe in "giving money to the poor" because it takes money from people that worked hard to earn it and gives it to people that will misuse it most likely. Educating or helping the poor is a better charity than providing money/food for them, which in turn helps them reproduce and increases overall human suffering.
Bill Gates is a person that successfully became the richest man through hard-work, talent, and luck. Is he the most talented or most hardworking person? Probably not, but life isn't usually fair.
One question, why Bill Gates? Just because he's the richest man doesn't mean he has any less right to his earned money than anyone else. If you earn a penny, you have the right to spend it on what you want, same with a billion dollars. I think the OP is just angry with fate rather than with greedy corporate figures.
Also, half of the "facts" in the OP's post are either extremely bias or completely wrong. /thread
You forgot about that fact that he is a boss.
I don't care how rich he is or how much money he gets by the time he picks something, all I care about is that his OS is running my computer and I'm thankful.
He worked hard, but he did not work hard for THAT amount of money.
As for giving away money, you keep look at the numbers the wrong way. By all means I'm not saying he's a bad man, but you are arguing he's giving away billions, I'm arguing he's so filthy rich that it won't matter. Even with his expensive lifestyle he still doesn't need 99% of his money. And then I'm talking about actually not needing it, he could still live his life the same way and not need that money at all.
When most people give away money and say "I don't need it as much as they do", they mean they could spend it on things they want. This is not the case with Bill Gates. He simply has no idea what to spend it on anymore.
So yeah, I don't think we should praise Bill Gates for giving away so much money he doesn't need at all, but rather praise all those people who give away money they don't need as much as the receivers, or even better, the people that really do need the money, but want to help people that have it even worse. So what if they are small amounts, that makes no difference.
Not even close. Sure they might fix the money issue right now, but that will only last a few years. The economical problems aren't here because there isn't enough money, it's because people got greedy, bankers who wanted more money, the average working people because they wanted that big house, car, tv etc and of course governments who want the big free market.
I highly doubt that my comment was meant to be taken seriously.
