vBulletin will be able to handle it BUT RaGEZONE has over 300,000 members and roughly 1000 online at a time so that is a hell of a lotof mysql processes lol. Also RaGZONE uses a aparently good server since it has a over 8GB database lol so please stfu. Fagtaku has a dozen MySQL errors a day lol and only has a fraction of the users of ragzone and a fraction of the amount of users online.

No it has nothing to do with vBulletin. A forum is nothing more then a shitload of php scripts, so is the shoutbox, when you put in the shoutbox it just means the server has to handle more, this has absolutely nothing to do with vBulletin itself as vBulletin adds no scripts itself, scripts are simply added when you add the shoutbox.
Just because the shoutbox can be integrated in the site, and perhaps it's even integrated in the software already, doesn't mean the issue lies with vBulletin at all.


Incase you are still too damn stupid to realize what i'm saying then just answer this. If you put a shoutbox on a phpBB forum then is vBulletin still the blame for the lag? If you put it on a mostly flash site that doesn't even have a forum, is it still vBulletin's fault? If you put it on a hardcore porn site, is it still vBulletin's vault?
I'll answer that for you. No, it has absolutely nothing to do with vBulletin.

Shoutbox scripts are old, like i said, i don't know if vBulletin has 1 itself now or not, but they were around long before it had, nothing has changed with it, it's still something that puts a strain on the server, so whether you use a possible 1 that vBulletin "created" (they just copied it then), or a 3rd party maker, it makes absolutely no difference.
