Take part in my research on MMORPGS :)

[Arcane Anubis]

Helena Cole from The Nottingham Trent University, England, is looking for participants for a research paper on the psychological interactions and motivations of MMORPG players.

The research is about friendships and online relationships, motivations for playing and personalities of gamers. All of the information given will be completely anonymous and voluntary, and you do NOT have to give your real name or address. It will be confidential insofar that (unless you give your characters name) she will not be able to distinguish who gives which answers.

Please note that she is not making any money out of this, and nor will she give any information to anyone else.
This is purely a research paper for her degree. All parts of this research fulfil the ethical guidelines under The British Psychological Society.

I'm eagerly awaiting the result of this survey though, especially the difference between male and female MMORPG players. In my experience men tend to play mostly for having a kickass character (which includes finding ways to level as fast as possible) while women usually just walk around with funny clothes on chatting to other players (which also would account for a greater interest in socializing and/or roleplaying). As with any scientific study I don't expect the results to be published right away, but I would like it if you posted a topic here once your mayor conclusions are determined :)
