My girlfriend's dad is suicidal and he almost killed himself today. I don't know how to react to this situation so if you guys could help, would be greatly appreciated.

For the topic starter: First, comfort your GF somehow if she hasn't been yet, and ask her if it is okay to consult your dad to a psychiatrist or to a mental institution(jk about this :P). Or if possible, make him call suicide hotline(idk if this shit would work). Hope it works out >.>

Since this is your Girlfriend's problem, You shouldnt even worry other peoples situation unless its your own family. Other then that try to comfort your Girlfriend as much as possible. If your GirlFriend's dad does not not know if you and her go out i suggest you not to even let him know cuz that will add on more to the suicidal problem.

Well I have comforted her and she says she feels weird asking her dad why. As wilsongb10 said, its a family thing so I'm just trying to make her feel better.
suicide is 1 thing, suicide when you have a child is a whole other kettle of fish
One of my uncles suicided a long time ago and he left his kids orphaned.
