Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
United will be lucky to qualify for the Europa league at this rate, something serious needs to change at the moment. It's going to be bad losing Vidic at the end of the season, I wonder who will then take the captain band :):
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
fucking hell giroud! we need a striker. He just isnt good enough.

Rooney or Carrick methinks
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
That was an incredibly boring game. New it would be a 0-0 draw. In positive news I won £40 from a £1.50 stake betting last night :P:
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Must be frustrating for Özil. He gives amazing passes infront and Giroud just misses them, last season when he hit it upfront Higuain/Benzema/Ronaldo would finish it.
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
He's off form the now as well, was certainly posted missing vs Liverpool!
-

city could and probably will put arsenal down to third with the game that was postponed, i predict top 3 will be city, chelsea and then liverpool (just my prediction)

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Aw man I remember the day City won the league, was brilliant! Joey Barton getting a sending off was a blessing in disguise, bet he did it as a favour to his former team :P:

Yeah gonna be bad losing that big salary the club is paying every week for an injury prone clearly worthless defender now XD
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
in the same group with England and switzerland in the euro qualifiers.. Easy 3rd place imo. Now that 24 teams get to the euros 3rd place would mean play offs, the first 2 go straight to the euros.

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Scotland have Germany, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Georgia and Gibraltar. As a mate of mines said if we can't beat Gibraltar we don't deserve independence! Also heard people saying we could take 2nd in the group. Aye, because Jordan Rhodes and Leigh Griffiths are gonna out-strike Robert Lewandowski and Jon Walters.
Not to mention our horrible defence of Mulgrew and Hanley. Only decent player on the Scotland team is Alan Hutton and he's mediocre. The only guy who plays for the pride of his country.

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Have you guys ever thought what club you would support if your current club didn't exist? For me it would probably be Southampton. I abseloutly love their way of giving the youth a chance.. Kinda like Arsenal I guess.

I would focus more onto my local team, I dont, really make the effort to go watch games, watching one next month though.

Bayern and Atletico will probably win.
However, Atletico's form hasn't been as good as it was a few months ago, so I do think Milan could pull through.

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
So Liverpool are doing well this year :) I'm hoping we maintain this current form so we can keep a CL spot, we have a few big games left (Man city, chelsea, tottenham) at home so hoping we can get something from them.
If we were to win them games we have a very good chance at the title this year, but I won't be holding my breath, I'm just really happy where we are at the moment.
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Here's my final league table prediction:
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
I'll go for this:
1: Chelsea
2: Manchester City
3: Arsenal
4: Liverpool
5: Everton
6: Tottenham
7: Man United
8: Newcastle
9: Southampton
10: Stoke City
11: Aston Villa
12: West Ham
13: Swansea
14: Hull City
15: West Brom
16: Norwich City
17: Sunderland
18: Crystal Palace
19: Cardiff
20: Fulham

I'm gonna say it now.
Arsenal are the most frustrating team to watch at times..

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
gonna post the league standings atm
Ligue 1
Bundesliga
La Liga
Premier League
and for the lulz, Scottish Premier League
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Celtic just won the Scottish top division. Not that it matters much, there's zero competition in it. Heart of Midlothian (aka Hearts) will be relegated by mid-April. Leaves 11th spot up for grabs, fancy St Mirren to finish 11th
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
It's gonna be a competition between Celtic and Bayern next year on who can win the league first.
-

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Just gonna talk about CL..
ATLETICOOOO, I'm extremely pleased to see them up there now, hopefully they can be good contenders like this for years to come.
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Fantastic to see Atletico knock out Barca and United get humped again! Disappointed that Dortmund aren't in the semi's however :(:
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
I went batshit crazy when Evra scored...
It ranked up there alongside Scholes's goal against Barca a few years ago & Terry's miss in the CL final.
:(
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
I'm supporting atletico in the remaining fixtures
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Interestingly, the last 4 teams to knock out Barca then went on to win the CL...
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Well Uniteds hopes went down the drain last night, we were playing so well, evra scored and it just went downhill... 22 seconds later, they scored. really??
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Atletico will definitely be great contenders if they manage to win the Final. Good luck to them, well deserved win also. They'll be even better when Diego Costa is eligible to play
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Hoping Atletico don't meet Chelsea so Courtois can play.
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
If Courtois could actually play in that match it would be epic.. It would be an eye opener for Mourinho anyway. Petr vs Thibaut. One day!!!!!
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Courtois can play, UEFA overturned the payment clause because it violated the 'spirit of football' or something.
:D
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
LIVERPOOL! So happy for them and so proud, it'll be the first time I've ever witnessed them win the league if they do! Sterling and COUTINHO really performed today, Skrtel too.
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
I will cry if we lose in the fa cup final
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Depends who you're playing. Arsenal seemed to struggle against Wigan, I guess Wenger does deserve a trophy tho.
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
It's Liverpool's to lose. Have to admit, would be refreshing to see the Scouse do it!

Manchester United are still going to win the league!....

That's the spirit. I just want to see Stevie get his first BPL winners medal, although it's a shame Carragher didn't stay on for one more year so they could win it together :(
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Ach Carragher was was too old and wouldn't have got enough games to get a medal anyways!
-

Very happy for him. Who would've guessed that Liverpool might win it at the start?

Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Sterling, Chamberlain, Flanagan, Barkley and Coutinho have really impressed me this season.
If we play a youthful squad at the WC, we may have a chance of actually doing something!
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
The youth HAVE to be given a chance at the World Cup. Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Lallana, Barkley, Shaw, Sterling, Sturridge, they MUST MUST MUST play!
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Shaw would be a good backup but I think that Hodgson will pick Cole over Shaw as Cole is more reliable of a backup
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Cole's barely played this season. He'd be stupid not to take Shaw. The youth must be given experience. Cole's had his turn, Baines is proving to be a reliable and resourceful left-back, they're the two obvious choices for me

-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
You know I just thought that if wenger spends money on a new RB(beacause Sagna is leaving:( ) and a striker ANDD we would have less injury problems.. we could challenge the title next season. But everyone is gonna get injured again next season.. like always :(
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
There's clearly something wrong with the training centre/regime then if everyone's constantly injured!
Who would replace Sagna though? Can only think of Micah Richards
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
I reckon Juanfran should be a good option for Wenger, definitely in need of a striker though. I could imagine them going for someone like Jeremy Menez tbh or someone more familiar in BPL.
Also just thought I'd pay my respect to Dylan Tombides who lost his battle with cancer today. Love goes out to his family, sad to see such a promising player die so young.

At first it was speculated that Coleman might come.. But now that we might end up 5th... Not gonna happen
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
And the chosen one is gone
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
edit:
It will be interesting to see what manager we can pull in, Louis van Gaal seems to be the biggest rumour to be in with a shot. If we do sign him as our new manager, that will put out our hopes for the great deal of next season, not having him pull in some deadly signings at the beginning of the market will seriously jeopardize anything we have left (Him currently managing Netherlands will put him out until atleast July, the same problem was had with Moyes, him making late signings. In reality, we need atleast 7 or odd new players, won't happen I know. Our whole first team is getting weaker and weaker, more rumours of the players wanting to leave is also putting a bad situation for the club.
Giggs is also got some odds as being manager but it won't happen as the clubs as currently said, it would be pretty nice to see this happen. He would need atleast a bit of experiencing managing before he could have a shot though, even though he probably knows the club better than anyone else (apart from SIF.) It would be pretty funny this weekend to see him sub him self on against Norwich!
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
Has to be Van Gaal unless he goes to Spurs. United need a whole new squad practically!
-
Re: The Big Football Thread (BPL, LA Liga, Ligue 1 and many more)
My prediction on the Premier League standings when it finishes.
1. Liverpool
2. Manchester City
3. Chelsea
4. Everton
5. Arsenal
6. Tottenham
7. Manchester United
8. Southampton
9. Stoke
10. Newcastle
11. Crystal Palace
12. Swansea
13. West Ham
14. Hull
15. Aston Villa
16. West Brom
17. Fulham
18. Norwich
19. Cardiff
20. Sunderland
It's awesome to finally see some competition in the PL, for a while now it's always been between United and Chelsea and then City and United.
Liverpool 100% deserve the title this season.
-
