Or we can keep this thread for the Ukraine issue and have another thread for MH370?
You think countrys like Germany, France, England will fight against Russia?
Excuse my english, but i think Russia is in alliance with China/Korea/Iran? or im wrong?
Germany for example 40 % economy (gas etc) w/o russia will be crap.
If you read 4chan you can have a huge portion of laught, what they talk abt, ww3 ww4 and china takes all etc.
Ukraina Krym? (or whatever spelling it is) half or less of people is russians? maybe thats why he sent military there?
Maybe it's just a simple conflict and nothing will happen? i guess so.
but thats my opinion, for me gov of country's like Poland should stfu.
Well if you want to get technical:
Russia is only allied with Belarus. Russia has historically invaded almost all of it's neighbors, in the end lowering the amount of sentiment in many of the regions nearby.
North Korea is allies with no one, but having a strong anti-western bias usually has the support of China, Russia, and the Middle East, who usually supports them in UN votes.
Iran is allied with Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Venezuela, mostly due to (again) an anti-western bias.
China is questionably allied with Pakistan.
The lines are extremely blurry when you talk about Asian and Middle Eastern allies. China and Russia often have disputes over land areas, but seeing that South Korea and Japan are strongly supported by the US (and thus the rest of Europe), the disputes (of Japan and S Korea) become much more confrontational. Then you have to look at it from an economic standpoint. China would go bankrupt if the US defaulted on its debts; Russia still has not recovered from its fall in 90s; Iran is constantly in economic struggle due to war within the region.
Then you have India, one of the worlds strongest allies currently and will only gain power in the future, which supports the US, Russia, France, UK, China, Pakistan, Japan, Germany, France, and Israel,
In short, the world does not have definite lines such as in the World Wars; No one (except maybe N Korea) wants to have a large scale war. Russia is still recovering from the diffuse of the USSR and China would lose literally trillions of dollars in the event of a standoff with any NATO country. That is why Crimea is such a different situation, seeing that you literally have the Ukraine which was quite close to joining the European Union being (arguably) invaded by Russia. Usually the super powers of the world simply back Middle Eastern conflicts (by either financial aid or weapons), but this time there are no puppets in the way.
My guess: Nothing will happen, but it definitely raises the tension within the area. By NATO doing nothing (cmon, sanctions are basically nothing) in the Ukraine, it lowers the power of it as a whole. This whole Crimea seems more of like a test on Russia's part than anything else, seeing how the west would react, and it worked.
Countries like Germany, France and the United Kingdom are in NATO. (28 states)
Providing the USA goes to war with Russia then those other 27 most likely will to. And to be honest Europe can make a decision like to declare war on Russia on its own, even though it won't.
And in my personal opinion no country on this planet would stand up against NATO and win. China + Russia, Middle East would stand a chance but there out-powered, superior technology...
In the future China would certainly be capable of holding its own, In a few years its going to have a larger economy than the United States, how long until the new shiny military has to be ordered.
"The total global nuclear arsenal is about 30,000 nuclear warheads with a destructive capacity of 7,000 megatons or 7 gigatons (7,000 million tons) of TNT."
The amount of energy given in the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami was more than 200,000 times the surface energy and was calculated by the USGS at 3.9×1022 joules,[15] slightly less than the 2004 Indian Ocean quake. This is equivalent to 9,320 gigatons of TNT, or approximately 600 million times the energy of the Hiroshima bomb.
But the fallout will probably do the trick.(BUT, a fallout from a nuclear weapon is far lower than a nuclear reactor)
The fallout is the most destructive aspect of a Nuke, the initial blast effects people within the local perimeter (melts them may be the word).
Everyone I've talked to about this thinks there will be a war. There won't be, If any other country such as Iraq did this then there would be another war.
Nuclear bombs won't be dropped because tomorrow never dies for Vladimir.
Is there anyone from ukraine here?
Nukes over Crimea shouldn't even be mentioned. Nuclear and Chemical Weapons are pretty much a no no for every country on this planet excluding N. Korea. Even if someone launched one the chances are it would be shot down by AMDS, and after that the majority of the planet would declare war. Providing the nuke didn't effect the "potential victim" I doubt any Nuclear Retaliation would occur, they'd rather just attack the offensive nation with the rest of the world. Lots of profit to be made.
