Just came back from the movie.
Well that's a shame, seeing parts back from a other movie. Although, the movie was great.
My god, has Michael Bay ran out of, "MICHAEL BAY EXXXXPLOSSIOON!!"???
It makes sense, he directed The Island.
I found it stupid he put, A Micheal Bay Film, in the title. That was gay. Its like naming a CMS MithexCMS
Recycling is good, kinda..
It saves ALOT of money on audio/visual explosions!.. especially if you have multiple camera takes from the same explosion, so you can use it in other movies ;)
oh wow just came back from watching the movie as well, they must have thought nobody'd notice
great effect, it like it ;))
Michael Bay is a shit director and if you like his films you have poor taste.
Man you people are pitiful. Does it really matter if he reused an old scene? It doesn't take or add to the movie in any way. It's even MORE sad how people actually research this kind of crap just to make some one's name look bad.
Clearly some people like to think that they know things which they obviously don't.
To film a freeway car chase scene, you need to either:
- Evacuate an entire freeway and film for several days
- Evacuate some sort of airport or runway
- Actually build your own freeway to film on
Oh, and it costs about $50,000,000 just to film that scene, which is usually 1/3rd of the budget for the entire movie.
You are clearly also under the impression that the directors pay for the movie out of their own pockets?
Jesus...
Nobody cares what kind of director he is, his movies are good and people enjoy them. Nobody gives a shit about anything else, but of course you always have to hate -EVERYTHING- that normal people actually enjoy.
Not that i buy it for a second though; I refuse to believe that there is anyone who watched The Island or any of the Transformer movies and simply didn't enjoy it.
Not to troll, But..He is right. Sure the movie is entertaining/enjoyable to watch with all the explosions, car chases, crazy CGI and not to leave out the hot sexy girls. but a mind can take so much of that, specially when he does it 3 times consecutively. You would think after the first one he would try to improve character development, storyline. but nooo, he has to add more explosions and girls!! thinking it's gonna make up for it LOL. Well I'm seing the movies within the next couple day's, ready to be entertained with O.C.D bay explosions!![]()
I bet none of you noticed the recycled scene before this thread. Don't say you did because you would've made this thread already.
stfu and just enjoy the movie for what it is. You had no idea about it before so why does it matter?
some people are just too funny.
Sorry if my post was a bit vague and sarcastic, but to make assumptions about one's intelligence or lack thereof is unnecessary.
People are entitled to their own opinion on the subject, whether or not they are fans of Michael Bay's work. As far as I know its general knowledge that producers accumulate funds. The "more money in his pocket" was not referring to paying out for films but more in relation to the profit he gains.
To the director and production designer, ripping scenes is about cost efficiency, but looks (to the consumer) like a big "fuck it, they probably won't even notice". There is a good reason for ripping scenes when thinking in terms of cost, but that doesn't mean those specific scenes were necessary elements. It did not HAVE to be done, it was a choice.
He did the same with Titanic and the first Transformers movie, and barely anyone noticed. I don't understand why its turning into a hate/love Michael Bay debate this is just a discussion about recycled scenes and gathering member opinions.

None of that applies, because absolutely nobody would have noticed that the scene was recycled. Unless you had only just watched The Island for the 20th time and were actually giving a formal critique on the movie, you would not have picked up on those VERY small similarities.
It was not just "cost effective", it was a mater of "Hrmm, do we want to waste FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS for footage we already have and own? It was probably not even his call in the first place, because directors and producers do not "accumulate funds" ; movies this big are funded by the production studios. No one person pays for this, they essentially pitch their idea to the studio who either says "Yes, we will give you the money to make this" or not. I find it very likely that the studio simply wouldn't give them money for footage that they could simply re-use.
You are right though, those parts of the movie didn't have to be included. But that just means that they have gone above and beyond the initial scope of the script, to make sure people enjoy the movie more. After filming they perhaps realized that it needed that extra scene, so they added it in from existing footage they could easily manipulate. I don't see how anyone is being deceived or ripped-off here.

Alright, i will re-word my statement:
Nobody who is actually a fan of Transformers, can say that they did not like the Michael Bay movies. Sure they can critique it on missing things or not adhering to typical lore, but they can't say that they hated or disliked it.
I don't give a shit what anyone says. I love all the Transformer movies, and the third one is my favorite. I think he reused the scenes perfectly and flawlessly.
Everyone has his own opinions and taste. If you don't like his movies, doesn't mean everyone (or the majority) would or should agree with you.
I personally hate most of the movies produced by American directors and never really liked the first, nor the second part of the movie. I don't feel like wasting time on watching the third one tbh.
The movie was awesome. He did a great job.
