Uni end of year project for 3D

nah sol u suck :P, ill host it for u sometime, we might have to actually meet ¬_¬, sending it over msn from resnet will take years.

Aslong as you hit criteria you'll get a 1st, i was 1 mark off a first last year in 3d apps and mine looked shit, you just have to state where you used booleans, lofts, etc make sure everything they ask you to do is in, even if u dont want it in the scene, u can always take it out after the handin :), the screenies u sent me look good, did john morton teach you? or dan macarthy?

3dsmax doesnt use gfx cards when rendering, its all processor baby. also if sol used raytrace shadows and lighting it would of taken fucking years to render yeh.

Yeah 15 hours to render isnt that long. Allot of my friends were rendering for over 24 hours. When i had raytrace left to normal settings, i couldent render it at all. Every time it came up with 'not enough memory to set up raytrace engine, rendering shutting down'. I more than halfed the raytrace power just so i could get a render!

tis an AVI thats in divx format.... however the compression has made it stutter in a few places (this is the small 40meg version). The 100% working avi is over 150meg.... will let u know when i get it uploaded. The camera movment is rubbish btw. Im gonna do another higher resolution render over summer with a decent camera track.

EDIT: It hasent given me a link to the file.... its called 3d5.avi but cant find it on the site now.... any idea where it would have gone?

i could make the glass less sharp looking at the edges and would also make the 2 piece suite look more realistic dunno what it is but looks toy like apart from 2 minor things i looks great :) (im hoping to do the same thing in couple of years :D)
