How is he promoting his site anyways? The money gathered is gathered by viewing the youtube video, not his site o.0 Do you people say the same thing about blood clinics? You donate blood and they pay you for it. The same thing is happening here. You view the page, you essentially help out. You are getting more views so that it's easier to pay for it. How is that wrong? What about raising awareness for causes, like breast cancer or w/e. How are those any different? You go there, where ever the rally/fundraiser/event is. Some people take morals too damn seriously. I could care less how he's getting the money, as long as the damn money is going to saving peoples' lives, which is what you should be looking at, instead of complaining how he's getting it. He says his site name at the start of the video, plus there are links going to it. He's just doing what every Government/Major Business do, using peoples emotions to blind them.
Sure he is helping by giving money, but the fact still remains that he's in it for his self interests. If this takes off and his video gets millions of views his site will have hundreds of thousands of hits that he wouldn't have had before.

Did you not read or listen to what he said? For every 100k views, he makes just under 300 dollars. All of the money gained from those views will be going directly to Haiti, with him covering whatever difference there is. It is not money for personal gain, it is money gained for contribution.
It's cheap advertising but who doesn't do it these days.

But still, you have to give him credit. Now, I know Youtube practically hands over money to people like him for making a three minute video, but I have yet to see something at least somewhat productive as this is. One thing I'm not sure about is how the revenue is calculated.. is it by total amount of views, because if it is, then is a very efficient idea. Whether it may be for popularity in a sense, or not.

Yes, ok, fine, so he's getting hits he never would have got otherwise. BUT, the charity he is contributing to is getting money they they would not have been able to get, had he not done it.
It's a double edged sword, you can't have one without the other. Big woop so he's getting a little something out of it, he's also doing alot of good. Nobody is a saint, and NONE of you would do any different to what he is doing.

I'm sorry to start it up again, but after watching the video yet again, can someone please explain to me how he was advertising his site? Maybe I'm taking it a different way then most, but the way I see it, he was stating who he was, from what site, so people would know who he is. I mean, if any random person was to make this video and say they would donate that much per 100k views, who would believe them?
But considering this guy owns his own site, and it being fairly known you can get money from Ads, he stated who he was for people that didn't know him. Does that make any sense to anyone other than me? I just can't see how people got the impression he was promoting his site. He didn't say viewers have to go to the site, or even remotely mentioned viewers visiting it. He just said he was such and such from that site. I took it as an introduction, not a promotion. Idk... sorry for bringing it back up.
@OnTopic: I've spread the link on my facebook and myspace in hopes that more money is generated to be sent there to help. I hope more people have done the same.
