First Is "KERNEL32.DLL" -> Location In C:\Windows\System

And The Second IS "IKERNEL.exe" -> Location In C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\InstalShield\Engine\6\Intel32

Not sure..... I know that the file system windows uses is FAT32. So the number 32 will prolly be important...... IKERNAL...... Im gussing it has something to do with your connection to the internet. May be the program that opens the ports on your PC to allow info to send an receive..... Sounds dodgy to me lol

im pretty good when it comes to windows... i think.

kk, u ever seen matrix? the kernel, its like the loading program. but for the GUI (graphic user interface) which is wot u can c.

\system32\ refers to the 32bit part of windows. \system\ refers to the old 16bit parts.

so, in short, the kernel is wot drives your computer, and system is the datafiles it uses, whether 16bit or 32bit (or 64bit if u got windows 2003, but i have no idea how that works atm :S)

btw.. on topic of windows... DEFRAG YOUR COMPUTERS!!!

i just had 3 computers come in to the house with the same prob, registry error on booting windows. if you defrag, it will normally prevent this from happening.

prevention is better than cure.

kernel32.dll is the file which windows needs to run.. without it windows will nto work

its the most important file :)
