What site would you like to be existing?

Hello!

Im making a site/forum and was thinking, what the heck would the site/forum
be about? Music? Games? Or what?
So, Im asking you, what kind of site or forum would you like to be existing that is not already existing orjust what you would like?
And also something that you might wanna pay for, for example subscription on the forum to participate in competitions where you can win awesome prices and so on.. Please help!

Yesterday I got this idea, but you might not like it, heres the idea:
I thought about something called ARCHIVE X (or other names)
which is a forum which will be the worlds largest Archive.
There is one category called "Archives" and inside there you will find the years from 1900 - todays year (subcategorys). When clicked you will be able to choose a month (subsubcategory) and a day (subsubsubcategory).
Inside here you just write in anything new, maybe a new game? A game update? One music? A new artist? News you found on your newspaper? Haiti earthquakes? Just anything that is related to the date!
At last, whenever you think "Ah, I've been hearing about the date 1/2/1999! I wonder what happened then! My brother told me about Archive X, maybe I should look there!" And make a simple seach on the forum with the text: 1/2/1999 and voila! You got lots of news or games or whatever and just see! In every thread you will be able to add information, add sources, add pictures and so on related to the topic.
There will also be other categorys, such as normal talking and so on.
If you pay for VIP you get colored name, participate in competitions,
get a song for every 5 articles you make, get a free movie for every 25 articles, and so on! The advertisers can pay for banners, side banners, popups and so on, but you will also be able to put a new category into the Archive X just about the thing you would like! Lets say, you pay 50$ for 3 months for a category named "Mike Tyson", whenever you find any info or any1 else finds information about Mike Tyson, you write there, and so your company or Mike Tyson in this case can be more famous! There will also be a Donate button for the Mike Tyson category and 80% of that donations goes to the ad buyer so he can go plus!

If you can't figure that out for yourself, i feel sorry for anyone who joins your forum.

There is roughly 600 billion Gigabytes of data on the internet, and you want it all on a forum. Now as an "archive", you need to host the files yourself, or the fie uploaders will delete the files due to inactivity.

So... You need to find a web host which will allow you to store roughly 586,000,000 TERABYTES of data. Am i understanding this correctly?

I dont want the people to upload movies, games and so on, I want people the copy the news and paste it in there, or if theres a new song they should write about it and after all that they copy a link to the source.

I was thinking of a "Wikipedia" but in a forum with more news, instead of just highlighting the most important things, I want to highlight both the important and also the unimportant, as there are people who needs the unimportant stuff, but it may not be important for you.
Wikipedia only highlights big things, I want to highlight everything.
And as it comes in the format of the forum, It will be much easier, And,
at the end of every month I will add all the topics created to make a site, which will be viewable in a good format, hopefully much more comfortable then Wikipedia.
Basically, an Wikipedia which will be more comfortable, and more to read about.
And also, before adding these topics to a site, I will always check the source if the information is correct, so the information on the site is 100% trusted and not like Wikipedia where everyone can hocus pocus with the letters and numbers.

Ahhh i seee. So it's like a news archive?

That's great, but i can't really remember much from the 1900's. Also to get from 1900 to 2010 you will need 40150 (1 for each day) sub-sub-sub-sections, with people willing to put up articles for each of them. Not to mention you will be needing newspaper articles from before the first world war.

So basically, it's Wikipedia... but shit? Because honestly, 98% of anything written there, will be a direct copy + paste from Wikipedia.

I don't see how you think this is even going to work. 9 months into the production, you will STILL be making sections for the forum. And all that work for what? People would STILL prefer to use Wikipedia instead, because they are actually a reputable source. If you need info, you don't get it form a random website.

This is not even factoring in how you will get your funding, sponsors, or contract with record labels to allow you to GIVE AWAY free songs and movies. The legalities alone are enough to hinder your plans.

Please answer that question, and think that others probably want to see too,
and are willing to pay for VIP which gives them exclusive stuff.

I'm not saying it's not going to work. I'm just saying that all of your hard work will not amount to anything because people won't have a reason to use it. Want info? Go to Wikipedia, why risk getting wrong info from somewhere else?

If you are gonna make a website, do something that other sites haven't done... Doing the same thing but slightly changed won't be worth it.

Now some of the ideas that you had were interesting, however there are ALOT of legalities associated with them, and going alot of them require hiring legal aid. At the end, it's not worth it.

As for what website i WOULD use... i'd be the wrong guy to ask. I don't often just "browse" the net randomly, if i'm on the net then it's for a reason. So i already have all the websites i need and want.
