A real Cookie? Haven't seen one in AGES
ya but, i had cookies in there that were logged in to websites i don't remember my passwords for.
just gonna format when i get this ro server i'm working on finished. its been a few months since my last one. I'm at 60gb / 500gb and i hardly even do anything (music and browsing the net) so it would be pretty cool getting all that space back.
Backing up is the Key to Cloning your life!

=P
I had the same problem this morning actually.
I woke up, and sat on my comp chair, clicked on mozilla firefox, it opens up and nothing loads, iput an url in the browser, nothing loads, so i close it.
Open IE, same thing.
Then, i try opening my Zone labs firewall, says the client error's and it try's to send an error report, but the internet is fucked so i can't do that..
so i'm getting awfully pissed, so i open windows media player and click on some music, it puts a red x mark beside it, same with EVERY song in my friggin library.
I know how you feel, but i just restarted it and it was fine :flag_schw
happened again :(
thats the last time i hold the button to shut down

To those who had this happen to them... your old bookmarks etc are probably still all on your computer, just search your drive for files called bookmarks*.html.
The reason you see everything back to the firefox/mozilla defaults is USUALLY because of a problem with the old profile/folder, this is most common when FF crashes and then you try to run it again but the original process (firefox.exe) is actually still running (and using that folder)... Then moz/ff will create a new profile folder but with no bookmarks etc.. The following article might help further:
Profiles
No worries ;) Have had to fix it up a few times on my parents' computer (usually because my lil bro crashed it with some sh*t from MySpace then tried to "omggottagetbackinN0Wtotalktomyfrendzpl0x"), so I'm familiar with the issue
You might even be able to resurrect your cached passwords, but you would need to find the old profile folder (probably the same folder your old bookmarks were in), and copy its contents to your current profile folder, of course keeping in mind that anything you've done since then could be lost... As far as I know there isn't any easy way to merge two firefox profiles.. but at least with the bookmarks, you can go to Bookmarks> Organise Bookmarks> File> Import and choose the bookmark.html file that you found, that should copy all the bookmarks from that file into your current profile that you are using
