Whats the truth on advertisment in Sigs?

Just amend the rules to allow advertisement in the sigs... it's not intrusive or anything, and I doubt most of the users here pay much attention to them.

I believe the original reason for the no-advertisement rule is to avoid crapflooding the forums with advertising threads. Advertising in the signatures tends to be rather transparent and not easily noticeable.

Mu link to a website witch provide free space for files. Again no advertisement not even my name. Just purely something help out community and help prevent them hour long waits on rapidshare. I got few boxs got some extra bandwidth might aswell use it :)

I know, like I said, personally I wouldn't have removed it..

And trust me, Gibs got enough spanking, we do keep an eye on mods you know..

Linking to private servers or website sucks but having to report to some1 for action and see the user still keep the sig after a week sucks even more.

If I had to choose I would only allow in all signatures but not 1 link outside RZ. If you happen to be giving a great free server or service why not make a nice informative thread someplace in this forum (there are sections for everything) and then link your signature to that topic? If your idea is to get more people then I can assure you more people will read a well placed topic explaining a nice and free service that will help all users than a link on your siggy to a website people dont know wtf is about and if its a scamm or not.

MentaL has no love for me ;) Reason I posted it was cuz no one would hear me in a corner. I mean the kid goes onto irc channel bragging how he gave me an infraction lol... I must admit I never ever even got close ever to giving anyone an infraction. I mean I had a person here and there have a problem but always managed to talk it out.

Back in my days advertising servers was cool I know we can't now but I had l2server.com or something in my title name. One time there we were unable to edit or change this well he also said thats why got the infraction even though I explained it to him..

Don't I have a right to a appeal :P also maybe someone who knows there English.

back in your day they had warnings not infractions :P
