Worldometers - Real Time World Statistics

I just came across this really cool site that has a bunch of meters that update in real time for different things like, Current World Population, Births/Deaths this year and today, Energy Used today, # of Barrels of Oil used today, Public Military Expenditure today, Tweets and Google searches today, etc. and I wanted to share it for anyone who has not heard of it

Worldometers - real time world statistics

I don't vouch for the validity of the numbers, but they do have a little info button you can click to the side of most of them that gives sources.

Also if you scroll to the very bottom there are a couple other links to statistics in the US and whatever the "7 Billion in the World" button has. (it's not loading for me)

More emails sent than Google searches today actually really surprised me. It was also pretty scary watching the 'total undernourished people' go down, it goes down by 1 every second or so, just hope to god that ain't dying.

What's even more scary to watch is the death's today :\ Watching that number increase every second, knowing that's a life that has left Earth for good.

True but is there also a statistic where you can see how many babies there are currently being born that would be very nice because then your eyes would be very amazed if you see that there are still people ongoing.

They have births today at 150,000, and deaths today at 65,000, we just have to hope the birth rate stays higher than the death rate lol

Its quite sad that quite a few statistics are not reported officially (e.g. monthly income of private tuition teachers), but its nonetheless approximate enough :D

Not necessarily, we should be wanting to get the death rate on the same measurement as the birth rate, if not, slightly higher to reduce the population of the world.

It seems to be only countries like France and Germany with problems with Death rate regardless, since the majority of the countries residents are above 55 years of age. On the bright side, it's cool watching the amount of money the government are spending go up, it'd be fun to see a 'how much tax payers have spent' column. I guess that'd be too dominant.

I think births need to be slightly higher(not double like it is now) than deaths due to the fact not all people make it to maturity. There is so many contraindication across the the research on whether this planet can keep up with raising population so not going to comment on whether we need to reduce.

Anyways, nice find but the figure for deaths under 5's put a lump in my throat. =(

wow bookmarked some really cool meters . but on overpopulation , overpopulation honestly isnt real because in the future by the time there is overpopulation there will be other means of living , for example the compact cities with buildings built on top of each other , just an example not saying that is what it will be like . and by then we will have enough intelligence to counteract having too many people in the world , which, look at how huge our earth is you cant tell me that this huge ass planet will run out of space any time soon .

Meh, not really impressed. Just a bunch of auto-generated numbers based off of shit like "X people die in ____(random tragic event here)____ every X seconds/minutes/hours/days".

People are impressed too easily. Either that, or I'm simply not interested because creating something like this was overnight homework in one of my programming classes...
