Is it necessary to arrest? What's the big deal with buying gold? I pay and I get enough for my epic mount without having to countless hours on farming gold. it's ok for both of side. Why stop?

It's illegal to buy with real money. See the terms when you agree them.
It's something like selling your account from retail with real money.

Because Blizzard wants you to take countless hours, so you will buy more subscriptions :P I bet there something along the lines of selling gold in there rules or terms of agreement. Gold farmers need to die. Seriously. The economy in just about every damn MMO out there is almost ruined by gold farmers.

Gold sellers put a price on ingame currency which is very dangerous to the people in charge. While the money is priceless if they ban someone the person has lost nothing. Once you give money a real world value when you ban someone they are loosing real money and people have successfully won cases suing the companies for unjust banning. I believe second life had this problem, also people using the game to hide money from the tax man etc...

If you spend around 6 hours a day or more, you’d have the luxury of time to farm/grind all the currency in the world. What if you only have an hour or 2 to spare a day and would prefer to spend that time playing the exciting content? What other choice do you have? Buying gold would surely be an option...
Besides, I don't think that it's quite true that you'd get arrested for selling gold. You'd probably get banned, but not arrested.
