DB connection failure after switching from win7 to win10, help. Thanks.

This was working fine before transferring to windows 10.

May someone point me to the right direction and hopefully tells me what caused this?

I can normally connect to the database using the manager.

This is one of the reason why I hate mssql, its too much pain in the butt to setup.

I have solved the issue.
Instead of using the IP Address in the database connectioni string, use the server name <pcname/instancename>.
Remove the port too.

To properly fix this, turn on TCP/IP in SQL configuration manager under the server network configuration.
