3DS Map Making Issues
Okay so im new at using 3DS Max 2010 for making Gunz Maps.
Last night i spent about 6-7 hours looking around 3DS so i could get used to how things work and things like that. Today i came to making something for gunz just to see if it would work.
So far, i made this just to see if it works ingame

I added LightMap in 3DS and also added LightMap in WorldEdit but then when i compile it with Lightmap and try this map ingame i get Error cannot create game, but if i then export it again with no lightmap it works.
Also, another thing, the base of my map is very small, just for testing purposes and when i go ingame and go off of the edge of my floor im still walking in the air, its like theres another invisible floor there. How do i fix this so i die when i walk off.
Final thing, how do i change the color of my Lightmap?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 3DS Map Making Issues
making maps in 3ds is a bit more difficult cause you actually have to make the map twice
first off, name your meshes correctly; textured meshes will be pass_<name> and the solid meshes where the player has to walk on are named hide_<name>. Naming your meshes is very important so dont forget that.
you can walk on air because there is no hide_ mesh, so gunz created one itself

Re: 3DS Map Making Issues
Either your folder name and map name are different.
Your xml is corrupt.
Or you saved the map in worldedit which corrupts the data, it's important to note that you do not hit ctrl+s in worldedit.
As for changing the color of the lightmap that's done in 3DS, you must go to the object properties where you change the intensity, attenuation, shadows etc, by default there is a little white box, you click that and change it to the color you want.
