You need to do it via the database or use a php script to automate it.

In your database execute this to change the name.

update character SET name='^1colourname' where name='notcolourname'

I think he wants to unlock the character '^' to be able to create characters with colorful name.

If I am correct you must do ASM to allow those kinds of characters... should be a guide on here somewhere, search "Color names ASM" might get something...

It has to do with the database. There was a tutorial a while back I think from Rotana about how to fix this.
