    Couple questions

Hi, new here. I've became interested in this game after stumbling across this via Google: http://forum.ragezone.com/f245/unfin...r-clon-586036/ and gave it a quick, rough look while looking at videos and images. I am currently doing some research for a network I am planning, and I have a couple of questions related to this specific game.

    1) The "MUID", that's just a unique identification number for each client connected to the server, correct? Or is it used for each "object" throughout the entire server (including clients, items, etc)?

    2) I gave a look throughout this forum, but it seems the latest available files are October 2008, is this right? Has no emulator been released publicly for later revisions of GunZ?

    3) What are the average players for the decent servers/official servers?

    4) The emulator I provided a link to, that is an actual clone of the existing server software. Correct? As in, the author of said clone reversed the internal design, structure and actual program flow via a debugger?

    5) Looking at downloadable extensions to this game, it seems pretty easy to reverse the client/server? (I've read the program debug database (PDB) is also available, is this true as well?)

I am not interested in other emulators (excluding the one I gave a link to), so please do not provide links to them.

    Thank you in advanced,
    ~Incognitos

    Re: Couple questions

    2. Jacob (Phailure) released an Emulator a while ago, it didn't work 100% and was full of a shit ton of bugs (That's even if you can get the handshake correct)

    3. Well, official, like Euro has 1,000+ players on daily. But new private servers nowadays rarely get members, any new private server is going to have trouble with building a community.

As to your other questions I'm not 100% sure, you'll have to wait for someone else to answer those. Btw welcome to the Gunz world lol

I'm guessing the handshake is just the client initialization when the client connects? As in it just passes/stores certain information about the client to be used in some sort of cryptography, server updates (players connected count, etc), etc?
I think I found that part on the clone I provided a link to (Local.Login I think was the packet name), excuse my ignorance.

That seems like a decent amount of people, looking at how the game play is. The game seems actually fun, but I was able to see the other, more popular servers such as "HeroGamers" and notice why they have so many people compared to others. I've already reversed some of the server earlier today via IdaPro, I found a Matchserver.pdb and dumped it myself. So questions 1, 4 and 5 are answered. Thank you, Subject N4XYZ, for your time and help. Much appreciated.
