    Custom 3D Maps?

    I am experienced in 3D graphics and design, C++ Programming, and will be taking collage classes on it during my Sophmore year(about 4 weeks away). I use AC3D 6.1 Registered. Is there a way to export custom 3D models with custom textures into compressed .MRS format for use as maps and weapons? I can't seem to get a convertor working...everything's encrypted...any help?

    well for weps and maps u need to convert them to elu and other formats and the onlyone who can do that is maiet maps can only be edited for now
    maby someone will make a elu converter but idk

    That sounds good. Maybe I'll find an exporter on google for .elu or maybe just try renaming a .obj with a file extension.

    No, ELU files are MAIET's proprietary format for models, and they use some weird form of BSP for the maps. Unfortunately, to get custom models working in Gunz, you'd have to have a ton of reverse engineering knowledge, and you'd need to reverse engineer the models' structure, then probably write a custom export plugin or something similar for the modeling program of your choice.

    a friend of mine had to do somthing similar to that for a game he owned a private server of. He said it was hardly worth all the work...do you think it would be easier to, instead of reconfiguring the model, reconfigure your PServer to accept .obj files? The only drawback would be that you would have to remake every elu model they had and save it as a .obj in order to still have all of thier models. Just a thought.

    Edit: I suppose that would work...if we actually had the whole Gunz.exe source to play with.

    Why dont u use GTKRadiant for making maps?
    (you cannot test it cause Legion didnt release the converter yet)

    yea like my buddy thieving said, its cake with the source. I made the lvls of my Private server go to 1000 with the source. right now though the only person whos smart enough to do all this is Legion from GZF. However if you had the source a good way to go about things would be to make the game client accept different types of files instead of trying to reverse engineer everything, that way it might be a bit easier. Yes you would need to know coding knowledge, but you could probably find someone to help you.
